I bet the subject line got your attention, eh? :) I don't know if this has been posted here or not, but here is some official news from the band about a release that their ex-label is putting out.... from cowboyjunkies.com "Sometime this month RCA/BMG will be releasing a "greatest hits" compilation. We have absolutely nothing to do with this release. We have not been consulted about any details, from the track selection to the artwork, and were not even given the courtesy of a phone call to let us know that this release was being scheduled. This release is a huge insult to us and we ask that if you are a fan of the band that you please don't buy it. All of the tracks on this compilation are available on our other studio releases, which are available through the Junk Store. If you must have these specific tracks in this specific order then: find them on the Internet, download them for free and burn them on to a CD....you have our blessing. " www.jessicaweiser.com - new album BECOMING available now! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2001 22:50:07 -0400 From: meredith Subject: ectofest!! Hi, ectofest 2001 is a week from tomorrow!! Just a reminder, it'll be at the usual location, Kenosia Lake Park in Danbury, Connecticut next Saturday, August 25 starting at noon. The gates open at 11:30 am. The lineup is as follows (in order of performance): JARGON SOCIETY MILA DRUMKE BAND MOLLY ZENOBIA RACHAEL SAGE TRINA HAMLIN EDIE CAREY In between sets, we'll be listening to tracks from Tori's upcoming album STRANGE LITTLE GIRLS. There will also be a raffle of Tori promos, CDs by the performers, and other cool stuff. As always, we will run shuttles from the Brewster, NY train station all day. Schedules are at http://www.ectofest.org/trains.html. At the gate, admission will be a $20 donation to RAINN. Online, tickets are $19 ($18 plus a $1 service charge). Tickets are still available until Friday the 24th at 6 pm, at http://www.ectofest.org/tickets.html. We are hoping to raise $5000, as part of RAINN's drive to raise $100,000 to celebrate Tori's birthday this week. As usual, all ectophiles are invited to the post-fest party at Chuck's house. There will be food, drink, and little dogs running around doing amusing things. :) Even if you're coming by train, plan to join us afterwards -- the train shuttle will keep on running. Any questions, please e-me. We hope to see lots of you there!!! ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org ======================================= ectofest 2001: August 25, 2001 A benefit for RAINN Kenosia Lake Park, Danbury, CT http://www.ectofest.org ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2001 22:43:59 -0500 From: Carolyn Andre Subject: Susan McKeown Tour Dates update Susan's tour dates have been updated on her web site http://www.susanmckeown.com/ (and posted to Musi-cal) ... west coast first, then back to NYC & Fez (the latter with KILA - very cool band <-- subjective opinion) SUSAN MCKEOWN & THE CHANTING HOUSE AUGUST 2001 26 Great Lakes Irish Music Festival: Van Andel Arena (with Johnny Cunningham) Grand Rapids, MI SEPTEMBER 2001 9 Street Scene Festival Horton Grand Theatre with Rufus Wainwright San Diego, CA 11 The Justice League 628 Divisadero Street (@ Hayes), 415-289-2038 Tickets through ticketweb.com and at The Justice League San Francisco, CA 13 Lola's at the Crystal Ballroom 1332 W.
