Yes, it's still there on Dalnet, although the chances of 2 or more ectophiles arriving there at the same time has become rather low, so your best bet for running into someone is to leave the channel window open while you do something else, such as chatting in another channel (last I checked dalnet had about 30,000 of them) and keep an eye on it. Also, maybe some ecto artists would be interested in holding an online chat there. We did one with Dwayne Keith of Grey Eye Glances a while back and it went rather well. if anyone has any ideas, let me know. dave ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 14:48:59 -0400 From: "JoAnn Whetsell" Subject: new bjork heard some of an advance copy of bjork's new album this morning. tasty. seemed somewhat subdued, like bjork in her slower moments, but i only heard a few songs. i also heard that she's planning on touring opera houses to support the new album. anyone know when this is coming out? According to http://www.bjork.com/unity/ the new album (titled "Vespertine") will be coming out on August 28th, but the single "Hidden Place" will be released on August 6th. Also, she has scheduled four concerts in Paris in August, two taking place at a chapel and two in a Baroque movie theater. Sounds like she is planning something really grand for these shows. As I understand it, The Doors got their name from Alduous Huxley's book "The Doors to Perception". This book was mostly about the spiritual ramifications of the use of psychotropics. :) Good subject for The Doors. :) Black Dove < Subject: Sara Ayers News For those interested. - --Neile >Subject: Sara Ayers News >From: Sara Ayers >To: neile@sff.net > >***** SaraAyersNews: The Sara Ayers Mailing List ****** > > >Hello, and thanks for listening to me babble... > > >************************************ > >New Song Posting: > >A revamped/remixed Drowning in Light >featuring over 75 vocal overdubs -- shimmery, >silvery voices cascading into a bittersweet pool. > >http://www.mp3.com/saraayers >http://www.ampcast.com/saraayers > > >************************************ > >Figura is a group of russian electronic >musicians who did a fantastic job remixing >some of my songs. I'm in the live band for Circus Contraption -- a Seattle-based, one-ring circus -- and this week we start a 7-week tour of Washington, Oregon and California. The group includes jugglers, aerialists, acrobats and other physical performers, plus a huge live band that mixes gypsy, klezmer, and a little bit of everything else. For details about the group and the tour, check out the web site: www.CircusContraption.com. Hope to see some of you this summer! -Kevin (aka "Chameleo" of Circus Contraption) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 23:49:12 From: "Lyle Howard" Subject: Benefit Porno Film Howdy, Last night Neal suggested one of my previous posts was leading up to an announcement of a pornographic film to benefit Happy. It really hadn't occurred to me, but now that the subject is open for discussion-- When the movie remakes of old, bad TV shows began (late 90's?) I kept expecting to see someone jump on Green Acres. I saw Brad Pitt as Oliver and the latest, hottest female actress could be Lisa (I think that was Eva's character). That would be Jennifer Lopez, Gwennyth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, etc. It would be easy to fill out the cast. Jim Carrey would be in there somewhere. But times have changed. Musicals will be the next hip thing. So, how about a pornographic (excuse me, adult entertainment), musical version of Green Acres? The sets will consist of a pool, a bathroom with a jacuzzi, a bedroom, and a cornfield to add some variety, to open up the film a little, to give us a chance to use a crane shot. All I need is $50,000 from contributors. The director and crew could also come from the multi-talented Ectophile pool. I bet this list is loaded with lighting designers, set designers, and camera-persons. My town is packed to the gills with starving actors and musicians, so talent should be cheap. Every actor needs a pornographic film in his or her portfolio so that when Entertainment Tonight does the inevitable obituary, they will be able to mention the humble beginnings of the actor, followed by the tooth and claw climb to the top, and the decline, when beauty faded and old age wrapped its skinny gray arms around the actor/actress. Shall we get started? Don't force me to hang around the local meth labs looking for an investor wanting to diversify and go legit. Bye, Lyle n.p. Concert Program - Penguin Cafe Orchestra n.r. Breakfast of Champions - K. Vonnegut. I watched the video the other night and couldn't remember a thing from the book as the film unfolded. Nick Nolte should have shaved his legs for his role, though. Time to re-read Vonnegut. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Jun 2001 17:15:03 -0700 From: Phil Hudson Subject: RE: Circus Contraption hits the west coast - -----Original Message----- From: Kevin Hinshaw I'm generally not one to toot my own horn,....
