It will be so cool to see her!!!! :)) I was hoping she would be recognized by the Academy for best actress although glad to see her at least get nominated for her song. I hope she wins it.. she deserves it! As for her new album due out [in May I believe] it is called Domestika.. http://www.bjork.com/home.php Suzanne (: _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 Mar 2001 02:22:03 -0500 From: "Suzanne ..." Subject: bjork My humble apology ;) Domestika WAS changed to Vespertine.. (I had no idea!! lol!) So it is written: The name Vespertine has roots in a word way back from the 1500s, which has many symbolic meanings; one being something "flourishing in the evening". A vesper is an evening prayer or service (usually sung) conducted during the evening. I can't wait! I'm looking forward to Happy's new album too :) Suzanne _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 Mar 2001 09:11:26 -0800 (PST) From: Neb Rodgers Subject: Fwd: Sarah Cracknell on TV - Be part of the audience! (London) Hi all, Not sure if there's any Saint Etienne fans from the UK on the list, but if so, you have a chance to be part of one of Sarah Craknell's tv appearances. Wish I could be there! I need dates in May. I need to know what kind of music so I could help book her. If she fits with LAND OF THE BLIND it is possible that we could do a double somewhere local (SF fans have been asking for BLIND to come down soon). My apt is too small, I am assuming, for a house concert (concert of 5 anyone?) but if she needs a place to stay for a few days, I can put her up in my tiny recording studio. I guess I need details, musical desription and an email contact so that I can be a good human. peace, cyoakha grace-fully accepting as my last concert across the country was all due to helpful hands (and floors) PS ALL supporters asking, my tour last week with AZIGZA to Mexico and LA was fantastic, much fun, many many fans from around the world. As I told Bill Mazur, the combination of hundreds of people telling me things (in Spanish), asking for autographs, posing for pictures, being interviewed etc...was a real combo of ROCK STAR (they loved my singing) and TOTAL DORK (since I couldn't understand a word)...so if everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame, mine was had as ROCK DORK or DORK STAR...tee hee, perfect. >you wrote; >Date: Thu, 08 Mar 2001 20:36:55 -0500 >From: meredith >Subject: attention SF 'philes > >Hi! > >Attention San Francisco area folk: Wendy Rule, the very cool Australian >songstress who is putting together her very first U.S. tour, needs a place >to play. I need dates in May. Wendy's keeping her schedule pretty up-to-date on her web site, the obvious http://www.wendyrule.com. And you can mail her at (are you ready), wendy@wendyrule.com Hmm, I just checked the web site, and it doesn't really jibe with what meth said. Did you maybe mean early June Meth? Wendy will be in New Mexico from around June 3 to June 5 or 6, and she will be doing a house concert at my place one of those days. Then she was heading out to CA. > I need to know > what kind of music so I could help book her. If she fits with LAND OF THE > BLIND it is possible that we could do a double somewhere local (SF fans > have been asking for BLIND to come down soon). I think she'd be a pretty good match for LotB. She doesn't really sound like you, but is perhaps a spiritual cousin. Her albums are rich, layered and textured, and a lot of them are about her pagan spirituality. She's going to be here by herself (well, musically, she is travelling with her son), so her show will just be her and guitar. There's all kinds of sound and pics on her web site. And there's also an ectoguide page on her.
