Good Morning: The latest from Jane Siberry... as much as I hate late night TV antics (no different from morning commercial FM antics), I envy those of you who will be able to see this from their own little plastic boxes... Sorry, that stuff all over your monitors is the remnants of my head exploding. A little windex should clean that right up. Seriously, this is too cool. Is there any more information about this album online somewhere? - Larne ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2001 10:10:03 -0800 From: "Shelly DeForte" Subject: EctoFestWest info and web page I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but there is an EctoFestWest web site up at http://www.ectofest.org/west/. Please send me an e-mail if there's some information you would like me to add. It seems like forever since I've posted about EctoFestWest. There have been some changes and re-organizations. Fortunately, nothing has changed about Happy. She will be performing an 80 minute set with full band!! Here's the lineup so far: Cyoakha Grace Two Loons for Tea Jill Tracy Happy Rhodes Don't anybody pee their pants yet, but we may be adding Veda Hille. Phew! It's going to be a full night. As you all can imagine, airfare and lodging are going to be expensive for Happy and Co. Please e-mail me if you have any suggestions for lowering these costs. Or, if you have hotel certificates or airfare certificates you would like to donate to the cause. The intention is still to make this for-charity, though I'm tentative at the moment because of our current costs. I plan on making tickets available by the end of this month. I love you all and expect to see every one of your beautiful faces for this fabulous ecto party! I seem to have wet myself. Wow. That would just totally kick ass. Well, either way, it looks like I'll be there, with the boyfriend in tow. (dunno whether or not you want to include that in your list of east-coasters, meth -- we're going to make it a vacation to the SF area, timed to coincide with the show...so I don't think, for instance, that we'd join in a block of hotel rooms) jeff n.p. _Romantic Blunder #4_, Meghan Twoohey ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2001 16:40:04 -0800 From: "Shelly DeForte" Subject: Hotel Info for EctoFestWest Found out some news which might change plans for some people on where they are going to stay. The weekend of the concert happens to be the graduation weekend for UCSC. This is the busiest weekend for hotels - period. There are still rooms available in Santa Cruz, but many are quite expensive. I am only into the 'B's on my list of hotels, but am quite discouraged. Fortunately there is some hope. The Brookdale lodge http://www.brookdalelodge.com has lots of rooms available at the moment at a reasonable rate of $89 (trust me - this is reasonable). This is an attractive hotel with a nice restaurant though the rooms are pretty rustic. This is not near the Kuumbwa, but is near Phil's place which is the site of the house concert. If you will need a place to stay, you may want to go ahead and book the room now and cancel later if something better is found. If this turns out to be the best bet, then we can block off a section of rooms.
