I know it isn't a terribly exciting collection of music, but I think it is lovely; "All Through the Night" and "Shenandoah" especially. I think it would make a good ecto children's album, at least! I'm one of the "hardcore prog fans" you mentioned. Look for a stressed-out 42-year-old with brown hair, trimmed beard, glasses who's trying to live down the week and ignore the fact that he'll also be working Sunday. I'm pretty sure my friend Ted White (aka "Dr. Progresso" http://www.holeintheweb.com/drp/Dr.P1.htm) will also be there. ~Mark C. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2000 19:27:10 +0200 (CEST) From: Yngve Hauge Subject: Briskeby touring with A-ha Hi, I heard on the news the other day that Briskeby will be the support band for A-Ha on the European leg of their upcoming tour. I would say Briskeby is the best thing in this musical direction Norway has offered since Velvet Belly, and to have two bands with such vocalists *shivers* More info on their page at www.briskeby.com (The page is down most of today though but it will be up later tonight - or that's what it says on the front page at least) Briskeby just released their debut album "Jeans for Onassis", and it is really impressive considering all the support they've got from their record company :) That is not very usual here in Norway - most of the supported bands release music for 14 year olds, but they act as if the music is for everyone (but I guess that's the case all over :) ... now, if only BMG could do more for Velvet Belly. - -- Yngve n.p. Can anybody help me with names of clubs that have ecto-ish artists ? Any help will be appreciated. What a downer of a flick. I've been in a funk all day. But gods, *Björk* ... now I know what all the raves have been about. I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that if you found _Breaking The Waves_ annoying, or _Blair Witch Project_ made you seasick, of your psyche just can't handle watching absolutely horrible things -- that just keep getting worse until they're beyond imagination -- happening to people on screen in front of you, you'll want to stay away from this film. But if you can handle Lars von Trier's style -- you liked _Breaking The Waves -- and you want to see quite possibly the most surreally affecting film you've ever seen, run, don't walk to your local art house cinema. It's probably not going to be in theaters for long. +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V6 #304 **************************
