Will have to look into their site and make sure there isn't any more info I'm missing for the page. (Usually one of the final things I do.) I don't agree with your assessment though. Just strikes me as ok. I'd say Victory Gardens is a very good album, and Weedkiller's Daughter is essential, while this one is mostly for fans. >> Personally I tend to prefer VICTORY GARDENS over WEEDKILLER, but I would say they are both fairly equal as far as someone buying them and listening to them. The reason I think the live record is a really interesting novelty is because it almost has an all-star lineup, what with John Ashton and Victor DeLorenzo. I've always thought hearing well known musicians from different backrounds mix and match to be very cool. For me that makes it worth looking for even if you're not a huge fan. But it doesn't really matter, because no one will ever find it again anyways! haha ;-) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Aug 2000 08:02:40 -0700 (PDT) From: Craig Gidney Subject: Fwd: [bedazzled-talk] Siddal calling........ They don't serve much of the NorthEast (look at their name...), but they do fly into Hartford. Unfortunately, only 2 cities made it this week: Nashville - Hartford: $130+taxes round trip Indianapolis - Hartford: $158+taxes round trip Flights have to be booked by Thursday night, and flight selection is limited; once the sale seats fill up, they're gone. They're the only airline I know of that publishes discount specials for travel weeks in advance; the rest seem to do it for the coming weekend only. bob np - Shai no Shai - "Human Condition" ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Aug 2000 20:44:48 -0400 From: Joseph Zitt Subject: Napster-related humor Not to fan (as opposed to feed) the fire, but David Kirkdorffer posted the following, which cracked me up, to the DGM Guestbook: San Francisco, Calif. (SatireWire.com) After using the courts to keep Napster and MP3.com from freely distributing music over the Internet, the Recording Industry Association of America today asked a federal judge to stop people from humming or whistling copyrighted songs in public. The RIAA also asked for $300 million in damages from the estimated 22 million drunken men who think banging out the opening drum beat to "Wipeout" is a good way to impress women in bars. "Anyone who publicly hums or whistles is disseminating copyright-protected music and thereby infringing on our artists' rights," said RIAA spokesman Janet Fogerty. "Also, we don't like it when the wind blows. It sounds too much like the beginning to Elton John's 'Funeral for a Friend.'" Free speech advocates were outraged over the RIAA's action, but women generally applauded. "Most of the guys I know can't drum 'Wipeout' when they're sober, let alone drunk," said Helen Kurtz, a 22-year-old from Manhattan. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Aug 2000 01:27:44 EDT From: RocketsTail@aol.com Subject: Vote for Susan Court! Until several radio stations picked up the song and ran with it, causing the song to be played at least every 20 minutes on one station or another, I was fond of it. Now that time has distanced me from those repetitive days, I enjoy it when I hear it. I will remember Duncan Sheik mostly for his standout track on "The Saint" movie soundtrack, a very nice tune called "In the Absence of Sun". Very nice!
