Mary's album cover is a painting with a hazy hint of impressionism and Munch hair. Jane's album cover would be ideal for the Siberry Broadway album. They are both green though. Bet you can buy that dress next year. No comments on the album yet, but I agree completely with Jeff on his views of Jane's Sheeba output (though I probably like A Day in the Life more than anyone else does). neal np: 200 more miles - cowboy junkies ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 02 Aug 2000 08:47:12 EST From: "Anne Deming" Subject: Songs In The Key Of Love-Comments Meredith wrote : >Tori Amos - "Putting The Damage On"??? In response : I took the "Songs in the Key of Love" subject heading to be about any and all aspects of love. It's not always hugs and kisses; there is a painful, bittersweet side to love that Tori conveys with such eloquence that I could spend hours reciting poingant lyrics from each and every song she's written. I have found solace in her music during each and every phase of a relationship. - -Anne ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2000 10:47:22 -0400 From: "Foghorn J Fornorn" Subject: RE: Songs for Lucy Joe already mentioned one Zappa/Lucy tune, here's another (also probably inadmissable): "Lucy's Seduction of a Bored Violinist and Postlude", from 200 Motels. Let's see what else we have... "Lucy Can't Dance" by David Bowie (from Black Tie White Noise) "Lucille", Brian Protheroe's cover of the Little Richard song. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2000 10:56:59 -0400 From: "Foghorn J Fornorn" Subject: RE: Songs in the key of Love There are trillions, but two stand out for me - both pre-ecto in my experience: Vision, by Peter Hammill Just Another High, by Roxy Music If I was doing a love compilation, the chances are certain that at least one Hammill or Ferry tune would find its way on there. As a further aside, I can ectofy this very quickly by selecting Concrete Blonde's cover of "End of the Line" or "Mother of Pearl" (latter technically done by Pretty & Twisted). ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2000 11:10:55 -0400 (EDT) From: dmw Subject: RE: Songs for Lucy On Wed, 2 Aug 2000, Foghorn J Fornorn wrote: > "Lucille", Brian Protheroe's cover of the Little Richard song. if the rules can be bent to that extent, why not just make a whole tape with nothing but lucinda williams _sweet old world_ (hey, that might be my favorite song in the key of love, too!) - -- d. np gingersol _nothing stops moving_ - - oh no, you've just read mail from doug = dmw@radix.net - get yr pathos - - www.pathetic-caverns.com -- books, flicks, tunes, etc. = reviews - - www.fecklessbeast.com -- angst, guilt, fear, betrayal! = guitar pop ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2000 13:24:26 EDT From: JudoEWF@aol.com Subject: Re: Songs for Lucy Looks like you've already got quite a few Lucy songs, but the first one that comes to my mind is "Pretty Good Year" by Tori Amos.
