Hi there! I received an email from someone asking me to id a song. I can't find it anywhere (there wasn't much to go on). Maybe you can help? ~Amy Women In Music http://www.ecalos.com -----Original Message----- From: LEMpilot Sent: Friday, April 21, 2000 11:07 AM To: amy@ecalos.com Subject: Need Help Identifying Song! Hi Amy, Neat page. I was hoping you could help me identify a song by its chorus. I know it's a tall order, but I've had no luck searching by lyric elsewhere. It's a female artist and I'm pretty sure the chorus goes: "You're my good and lovely friend" I'd appreciate any help you might offer. Thanks so much, Paul F. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Apr 2000 11:58:45 -0400 From: Ted Jacobs Subject: New Recordings from Annie Haslam and Renaissance Source: http://www.enteract.com/~nlights/lib/news.htm "Annie Haslam sent us a note saying that EMI/Toshiba will be releasing the new Renaissance album Tuscany in Japan. The band is hoping for a late spring (here in the Northern Hemisphere) release, and they are negotiating with labels in other countries for release worldwide. Good news! (21 April)" The same news is also up on Annie's own site: http://www.annie-haslam.com/ Just don't ignore her most recent solo set, _The Dawn of Ananda_, out on her White Dove label (WD 000-02, CD only). Ordering info. should be up there on her site. Larry Fast and Tony Visconti were heavily (heavenly?) involved with this one, and fellow Renaissance member Michael Dunford helped Annie write the opening track, "Precious One." BTW, it's all about angels....and the word "Ananda" is supposed to mean "bliss" in Hindu.... I've been a Renaissance fan ever since high school. I saw Renaissance perform in concert once in Middletown, Connecticut -- they were spectacular. Renaissance has incredibly creative music and lyrics; their songs are lush and full of rich-sounding melodies. I think that "Ashes Are Burning" is one of the greatest albums of all time - --Bill n.p. Annie also has some great recipes on that site, dispelling the "British cuisine is an oxymoron" stigmata, organic wholesome foodstuff.
