The videos are... weird. especially glory of the 80s. tori looks... scary. black lipstick and all that eye shadow does *not* suit her. 1000 oceans was better, but i didn't get the scene with the mob. bliss was also okay; pretty good for a (mostly) concert video. JoAnn ******** the update: Tori Amos’ songs are beautiful, that point is well-established among critics and fans alike. The meanings behind her lyrics, well those are up for debate. Everyone has their own interpretations (which may be just the point), but if you’d like a little help deciphering the enigmatic queen of the ivories, tune into VH1’s Behind the Music II special. The program will cover everything from Tori’s LITTLE EARTHQUAKES days to her recent double disc to venus and back release. It may even touch on Tori’s bigger-haired Glorious 80s, so tune in - show time is 11AM on April 8th and at 11:30PM on April 8th. Can’t wait that long? Appease yourself at INSTAVID where we've got a catalog of Amos hits including the aforementioned "Glory of the Eighties" single and the haunting "1000 Oceans." ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Apr 2000 18:05:41 +0200 From: "Hill, Holly K. Holly, The song is "To France" by Mike Oldfield. I have the song on a really nice best of collection of his entitled "Elements". I believe that it was originally on his recording entitled "Discovery". The singer is Maggie Reilly. I don't know anything about her. Mike Oldfield is a wonderful composer and one of my favorite guitarists. He is best known for his album "Tubular Bells". Pieces of it were used as part of the soundtrack for "The Exorcist". Lately, on the "coffeehouse rock" digital radio channel at work, there's a song being played quite often. Female vocalist, straightahead pop-rock with a little country thrown in there as well... fairly heavily produced. Not my usual cup of tea. The chorus goes something like, "I've never made a promise / I can't keep". I'm intrigued, however, because the vocals sound stunningly like 80's pop star Tiffany. I had heard that she got a new record deal and was going to be releasing new material. She's one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I find the current crop of teen pop stars to be insufferable, but I still find something appealing in Tiffany's old hits. Anyhow, does anyone know if this is her, by any chance? Or who this singer is? Thanks.
