Karen Hunter (I can't write the accent, but that's 'a' as in 'Car') from NZ and Penelope Swales from Aus. are doing a tour together of both countries. I've seen Karen play before, but I'd never heard of Penelope (yes, this is probably where I get hit over the head by legions of Australian list members.) If you get a chance to go, make sure you do; it was fabulous!! Both women were in great form, and Penelope tells some amazing stories about the songs. And you have to love someone who calls a song "Just Twisted" (not bitter, just twisted) :) They did a set each, and then played a third one together, as they've been learning some of each others songs. They're playing down south next... I'm noot sure when they're going over to Australia, but Karen has a web site (www.karenhunter.com) which will hopefully have details once it's been organised. Failing that, just keep an eye out for the names... - -Philip (who finally gets to see Ani in concert next weekend! *bounce*!!) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 07 Feb 2000 01:47:47 -0500 From: Paul Kim Subject: Re: lisa dalbello in billboard, also carrie akre At 11:23 PM 2/4/00 -0800, Neile Graham wrote: >Paul Kim wrote: > >>in this past week's Billboard magazine, there's a small article about Lisa >>Dalbello, talking about what she's up to right now. > >That's _cruel_, Paul. What is she up to right now? For those of us who >don't frequent stores that carry magazines... i know...i couldn't remember what was in the article because i skimmed Billboard the day before while at work (it's the only access i have to the magazine...i'm supposed to go over all the articles to see if there are any music technology related things in there that might interest my boss, the Dean of Music Technology). I wasn't sure if i should wait until i could write down the details (which should be today, monday) for later transcription or just mention that it's out there and hope that everyone here would rush out and peruse the article ;) i'll see what i can find and report back within the next 24 hours (i hope). and, hey, it's cruel to be kind, too :) paul "it's a beautiful thing" Kim ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V6 #36 *************************
