Thank you to all the Ecto list people who are now subscribers to FEMMUSIC. I recognize many names from a time long ago. FEMMUSIC just released our January issue featuring some great independent artists. FEMMUSIC also partnered with Gogirlsmusic.com We both see this as an opportunity, and have been working for months getting it together. For more information visit FEMMUSIC at http://www.femmusic.com Next month will be FEMMUSIC's jazz/blues issue featuring an exclusive interview with Shemekia Copeland. For those who know me on this list, I wish I could say I'm lurking in the background. Truthfully, I'm reading press releases, and planning issues. Hi! This being Friday night, I was listening to WPKN and I heard something really cool: a Delirium song called "Silence" featuring Sarah McLachlan on some *killer* vocals. It was from the soundtrack to _Brokedown Palace_. Neither woj nor I recognized it from any Delirium albums ... is that really the only place to find it? If so, how is the rest of the soundtrack? I don't recognize a lot of the names on the track listing (PJ Harvey and Sarah Brightman excluded, obviously :). I *need* that Delirium song. Waiting for the _Magnolia_ soundtrack to come from CD Now, +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Jan 2000 19:46:49 -0600 From: "Dan Knoff" Subject: Re: brokedown palace soundtrack? It's there. Karma also features Camille Henderson (Sarah's bg vocalist,) Kirsty Thirsk, and Jacqui Hunt. It is a 1995 release and I agree...the song is excellent. I can't remember how the rest of the cd compares because I got it specifically for Silence. Guess that means I'll have to put it on and listen since I now have it in my hand! All of it is awesome. Yeah, I loved the album when I first got it, but take a close listen to that final track, "'Til the end of time"... they obviously sample the drum loop from "Caught a Lite Sneeze" and didn't credit it in the liner notes, and that really really irked me for some reason... but I did love "Silence", what an amazing song... but I ditched the CD because they didn't note the sample and that just pissed me off because Tori deserves props. Oh well.
