Yup, that's Delaware. Unfortunately, it's about 2-3 hours north of DC the night before Lynn will be at the borders down here, so I'm not real likely to make it up there. Is studiom going to be broadcasting this per chance? They were involved with a Peter Himmelman thing a while back and seemed pretty competent. > >it would be nice to have a good turnout. A third show, this one all-ages, has been added so hopefully more of you can come. John, be sure to let me know if you come up! ======== Wow, folks... The response to our special CD Release show has exceeded all our expectations. It's only been a day since I posted about it and there are already over 75 people to be added to the guest list! We have people coming in from Regina, Seattle, Atlanta, and even the UK! You folks are phenomenal, there just aren't enough superlatives and exclamation marks in this world to be able to describe you guys! Now here's our problem: we're already in danger of exceeding the capacity of the club just with the responses we've gotten so far. We really only have room for about 20 more people (including guests). So email Heather soon to avoid disappointment. However, good news: a third show has been added on Sat Aug 14 from 2-4pm, and this show will be *ALL AGES*. So all you under-19's and parents of younger kids can come to this one! Please email Heather again so she knows to add you to the guest list for the Saturday all-ages show instead of the Thursday night show. The Sat all-ages show be open to the public so all of you are welcome to come to this one. For all of you out-of-towners, if you really want your fix of Sarah, this is the weekend to come... 3 shows in 3 days! Expect some rare songs! It's not just a CD Release party anymore, it's... The retailer also said it will split its stock 2 for 1, and reported better-than-expected fiscal first-quarter profit before a $114 million charge for Divx. Its stock rose 8 3/8 to 90 3/8, a record close and the biggest one-day gain in three months. Circuit City invested about $200 million in Divx, hoping to capitalize on the growth of digital video disks. Its machines play disposable, prerecorded disks as well as regular DVD movies. The retailer, though, couldn't persuade other big electronics chains such as bigger rival Best Buy Inc. to carry the disks and machines, or find a partner to help with financing. ``It removes a lot of uncertainty,'' said analyst Mark Mandel at ABN Amro, who rates the company ``buy.'' ``Clearly they needed broader support and needed to expand distribution.'' ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 01:21:05 -0400 From: Matthew Levy Subject: Happy stuff and other stuff! Hiya folks. I'm going to delurk for a bit to ask a few questions and to give some information for everyone. Someone mentioned how similar Jennifer Kimball's voice/style is to Jonatha Brooke's even though they're not together anymore. I wholeheartedly concur with this. I have both of The Story's albums, and I cannot tell who's singing which parts in which songs. I thought I had it figured out since I've gotten used to Jonatha's voice on her solo albums, but when I started hearing Jennifer's new album on WXPN, my whole belief system got trashed. And as for Happy-related news: Echoes Radio Show, a long-time supporter of Happy's music, is having a vote-in contest for the 25 Favorite Echoes Artists of the Decade. I believe those 25 will have portions of individual shows in August devoted solely to their material. I'm sure the show's host John Diliberto would love to see Happy on that list. He even mentioned Happy by name during the most recent WXPN fund drive. So to vote, go to the Echoes Home Page (www.echoes.org) and fill out the form. Lastly, a question about the upcoming Tin Angel show. I would love to go, but it's during the middle of my surgery rotation (medical student blues) and I have no idea what my schedule will be like. Since I can't make any commitments, would I have any trouble getting in if I don't have a reserved ticket? Thanks! Matt Levy Temple Med '01 P.s.-Anyone have albums of the defunct ectoish band "Downy Mildew"? I made tapes of their albums my college radio station. Now thoses tapes are getting 'muddy' and I've never seen their albums anywhere else. If anyone has info, please e-mail me. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V5 #207 **************************
