Check out http://www.cocteautwins.com and click on the >news icon for info about all the projects they're all into. It's a lot. well you went there or did almost, so now i get to go there more, it's a Rule!, or now it is cos i just said so! :) i got not a long time ago from Bella Union copies of the Sing-Sing single, _feels_like_summer_ and i think, uh oh uh oh, i am in love! :) Sing-Sing is Emma Anderson (ex of Lush, speaking of those who are broken up and on Bella Union, weeried) and Lisa O'Neill who i know naught. but i love this cd so so much and it tickles my weakest sweetest spot and i think if cds do wear out it's from when i play them overandover again. if the genre had a name (& well know you how i am about Names) it might be elEctotronica, or some suchly. more electro and less guitar-y than Lush, but pretty and poppy and tigers oh my! i have seen, even, some of the new Simon Raymonde stuff in tower but no such luck for me with sing-sing, finally i broke down and ordered from them on their website (ooh!) which is a Something to those who know that i am such a boy that way i am a see it want it buy it sort of girl. mail order is so... premeditated and any kind of posterpremeditation is Not Me. you (some Yous of you especially) know just hooow useful i am to review things which i Love, so use salt or no-salt or msg or habanero until it's soup. but iiiiii Love It! 10 things i love about Central Reservation, where even ever to begin?!?! Beth & William O is the other side of sing-sing's sweetest decline-spot and when i read here about where she went on _CR_ i worried (and i worry, you know i do, i should be a grandmother for all the worry i have!) because aside from ummm certain stereotypes i am not a big lover of the folkier of folk. when i hear a girl with guitar (this is sad but oh so true) i wonder "hey where's the boy with the drums?" or maybe in this case the boy with the juno 106 and jupiter 8. but i am happy x 6 with _CR_ and if this is not a great album i am not sure what might be one, and if i did not have already a 5 cd changer i would need one so i can play that and _feels_like _summer_ to death *together*. along with... what, may i oh so humbly ask, is it with Christian bands and prog? no wait, don't answer that, cos now i'm happier not to know. i got the Sixpence None the Richer cd too because it was on sale and i knew that after all the talk here i sooner or later would have to get it and cheaper is often better. so i listened and it must be just Veronica's Quirks on Parade night because you have to know that i am just rubbed SO the wrong way by most overtly organized-religion-ous music, no offense to those who love their deities but that is me and i am that. so shock be to someone that i Really Like this album! ignore the single if you must, pretend that It Never Happened and give the album a fair try. if you don't love "Love", i'll... um... i'll eat my hat, or i will if i can find maybe a gingerbread one or something. the last time i ate a felt hat i had hairballs for a week and my girlfriend made me sleep on the sofa. do you ever have people ask you what your problem is? they do to me at times but the other day i figured it out so now i know. when i was in 2nd grade my parents made me go to CCD, which stood for something even our teachers could not remember, it was sunday school except on i think wednesday. and the registration was, um, free form maybe is how to say it, and i put myself in the 2nd grade class, just like i was in real school. that was a little oops on my part, i spent maybe 4 months after that trying to figure out who Satan was and why noone seemed to like him very much. eventually i did find out the first part, and i had heard of the Devil by then, i just didn't, you know, know his proper name, but the second part i guess i'm still a little fuzzy on, he seemed more like the kid that everyone picked on because it's the natural order of things for there to be someone picked on. maybe if i hadn't dropped out they would have explained it eventually. i saw in the store a new Leah Andreone album which if it was mentioned here i did miss it. in the ecto where are they now files, i was playing my copy of Celestial and did get to wondering what happened to Carolie Seaman. all i did find was a note about a Martin Bowes side Projekt, Attrition, that she was singing on, but if anyone knows more i'd love to hear it. i guess she did some vox for 808 state so i may have to seek that out. mmmmmm bands named after gear ;) they say that you "come in" to AA when you finally Realize you have a problem and i think if there was a 12-step for EWS i came in the other day when i realized that Love Spirals Downwards have (at least) 3 albums, not 2 like i thought... it happened when i found a copy of the third one *in my cd collection*. um doctor... help? ;) and i leave you this fair eve with the funniest sample i almost heard lately, it's a 2 pointer for you trainspotters: "he wanted you to learn the secret style of the Shaolin Bhudda Paw, because only that style is capable of working the down button." -veronica ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 May 1999 16:38:52 +1000 From: Andrew Fries Subject: Tomorrow Wendy mp3 I put Tomorrow Wendy - JJJ version in mp3 format on my site: While I was at it, I also included a couple of other tracks (not related to AIDS, just little things I'm excited about at the moment).
