I saw them guest hosting a video show last night and they played one of their videos, they sounded rather ectophilic, someone at MTV reportedly described them as 'radiohead meets jonatha brooke' http://www.amazon.com/ has some samples of them as does this site I found: http://www.icuk.com/chasingfuries.htm Also I heard that Jennifer Knapp will be playing several dates on the next Lilith tour, if you go to one that has her, check her out, she's incredible.. Also Caedmon's Call new CD 40 Acres debuted at #77 on the Billboard top 200 this week. - -- +-----------------------------------------------+ + dave + + Visit Sideshow Bob's House of Wax and Waffles + + Female vocalists, Christian, and Polish music + + -=-=- and the fabulous Kasia Kowalska -=-=- + + http://magpage.com/~sspan/ + +-----------------------------------------------+ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Apr 1999 18:55:47 GMT0BST From: Ms Elin Gyda Dreaming Girl Sjoelie Subject: Re: tori/alanis tour announced > Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos Join Forces For '5 1/2 Weeks' Tour But they're not coming to Norway. Just a spring reminder of another smoe.org service, lilith-fair-fans. Lilith-fair-fans is a full mailing list, created for two purposes: 1) to be a central list for lilith discussion, venue inquiries, directions inquiries, etc. etc. 2) by being a central list, to lessen the load of Lilith posts on various lists. As this is that last year of Lilith, I've gotten rid of the posting limitations on the list, so that hopefully the list itself will generate a community that can survive the end of the Fairs. The list is available in regular and digest form. To subscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: subscribe lilith-fair-fans or subscribe-lilith-fair-fans-digest for the digest. The digest is all the same posts as the regular list, except that the digest is only sent out once a day. Please feel free to forward this announcement to any other lists. The end of Lilith Fair? I'm traumatized. Please say it ain't so. And if it is so, please share the information you have. Sarah didn't want the thing to get moldy, such as Lollapolooza, and this has pretty much always been planned as the last year. Katheleen and I truly appreciate it! Katheleen has been going through a very rough time for awhile now due to a complicated surgery and a long, difficult and painful recovery process. Words of encouragement such as yours truly help her in maintaining her amazingly positive spirit and help to aid in her recovery. Katheleen and I hope that she will be well soon so that we can again go out and play our music. We look forward to that day! Sincerely, Bill M. n.p. I am not going to do an in depth review this time. I will say that they were in a word: AMAZING! They are an excellent world and progressive rock band. They have been one of several outstanding new musical discoveries that I have encountered because of being apart of this wonderful mailing list. If you want to sample some of their music, check out this URL: http://www.mp3.com/artists/13/azigza.html Bill M. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V5 #146 **************************
