Aliza & Lisa Cybergrrl.com UPDATE FROM LILITHFAIR.COM http://www.lilithfair.com/ Look for the North American tour to get going in early July. It will be more compact than last year as we ran ourselves ragged last year. 11 weeks is just too much for something the size of Lilith. Look for the tour to be more like it was in the first year. 30-40 shows over an eight week period as opposed to 50-60 over 11 weeks. We'll maintain our sanity and be that much more pleasant to be around... I've located this and considering it's age think it sounds pretty good. I don't have any of her albums from this period (would love copies of these BTW) so I can't identify some of the songs. Found the titles for the ones from "Pretty Girls". She only performs 4 tunes from that collection so this is obviously a show promoting her later album "Drastic Measures" (1981). If anyone has that and could correct my guesses I'd appreciate the info. Happy to spin off copies of this for anyone interested. Here's what I've come up with: Lisa Dalbello "Live at the El Mocambo" Toronto, Ontario City-TV/CHUM-FM simulcast, 1981(?), 52m Side A: Voice-over intro by Rick Ringer (I've Got) Everything Money Can Buy (?) You Press On (?) (Is There) Anything I Can Do?* Dreams (are for Lovers)* Won't Stand in Your Way (?) Two of Us (Beatles cover from "Let it Be") Side B: Pretty Girls* Talk it Over (?) Still in Love with You (?) God Save the Queen (?) Make it Last* Voice-over extro/short instrumental intro for encore song (cut when broadcast ends) *from "Pretty Girls" released 1978 Wayne posted comparing the style of Dalbello's "Whomanfoursays" to 80's Gabriel (definate influences there). This reminded me of another Toronto artist, GOWAN who actualy worked with Gabriel's back-up band (Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta, David Rhodes) the following year on his 1985 album "Strange Animal". Didn't tour with him though. Some good things on that release which is still available. Amusingly listed as hard rock at CD Now, and as contempory at A&B Sound. Have to blow off the dust from my vinyl and re-aquaint myself with it before I can attach a label. So there's another artist who doesn't like to use their first name (it's Larry BTW). How many of these could we come up with? CU, Dave ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Apr 1999 20:43:36 -0400 From: meredith Subject: Re: Greetings Hi! Some of you might be interested to know that "Siren" has been re-issued in Australia with a bonus CD of acoustic and live versions. Although I suspect most of them appeared already on various singles, it's nice to have them all on one disk. Here are the tracks: Grow Young, Water from Wine, London Rain (acoustic) Blind (live, I think) and Walk this World (acoustic). Best of all, the CD came with an invitation to her showcase performance. Because I haven't heard anything about her touring in Australia I think this will be just a promotion appearance. Probably without her band, in a small venue... disappointed with "Siren" as I was, I'm looking forward to this. - ------------------------------------------------------ The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.
