Blood Red River sounded especially excellent. I guess I'm out of the loops since I never subbed to lovehounds...but why wouldn't she do more records? I've even been fantasizing that one day maybe she'll get together with Donal Lunny again and do an entire album of trad Irish music sung in Gaelic. Silly me, I guess. I knew it was going to be sometime in January, but didn't have an exact date. The Veda Hille portion of the show is the gig she and the band did at the Mercury Lounge in November. It was a most excellent show, and everyone should tune in. I some how missed my ecto email from Dec. 13th until yesterday. I read Woj's opinion on Sister Soleil and I really disagree. However I do understand that this music may not be his cup of tea. I want to explain why this music works for me and probably many others: it's very catchy and danceable. I have gained a lot of weight the passed few months and I need something to motivate me at the gym. Most ecto music won't do it for me. This will. It keeps me going on the tread mill or on the epilipetic cross trainer machine. I don't have the lyrics because I payed only 88 cents for a used copy. But lyrics are available on a website. I don't consider the lyrics boring. And not all the songs are danceable. I admit this is not music for most ecto listeners but many ecto listeners are into the electronic music also. This is an album for those listeners....Anyway I asked this question a few years ago but I'll ask it again in a different form....What is your favorite albums for a workout? I need to know because listening to the same stuff over and over gets boring. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Dec 1998 16:22:05 PST From: "Melissa B" Subject: Tommy Hendrickson I just wanted to mention I singer that I keep on hearing on WLIR 92.7 in Long Island called Tommy Hendrickson. I don't like most male vocalists but this one has a voice I really like. The song wlir plays is called "Staring at the sun". His voice reminds me somewhat of Richard Butler of the Psychadelic Furs (although someone I know doesn't hear that.) and the lead singer of Catherine Wheel. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V4 #450 **************************
