Hey-- Looking for some guidance from you lovely ectophiles. I just saw a peach of a soundtrack at my local EWS source for a film called "Hanging Garden." The disc looks great--ani, Siberry, Meryn Cadell, Aether, and many other interesting ectophilic artists...was wondering if the film was any good... The last time I saw a film based on its soundtrack I got really lucky and it was fantastic(that was Boys on the Side--another wholly worthwhile disc...) Anyways, should I check this one out? - --Kay, drowning in the Providence torrents... np: Best of All Woman, disc 1 (British import--check this one out--I think CDnow has it.) nr: C. Then with my trusty shopping-basket in hand, I eventually added the following: Original Score "Les Miserables" Jules Shear - Between Us (duets with Paula Cole, Patty Griffin, others) Chris Stills - 100 Year Thing (sounds a little like his dad....had to get this because he'll be at the Horde Festival and I've got front row tickets) Elliott Smith - Either/Or (taking a chance on this based on his work for "Good Will Hunting") Hard Rock Cafe: Classic Rock (got this mostly for my husband) Rock She Said: Guitars + Attitudes (lots of names I've heard of but haven't heard their music yet) Celtic Colors of the World - Music From the Four Corners (leads off with Susan McKeown singing "Bushes & Briars" -- 11 tracks for only $4.99) GRP Presents The Cool Sound of CD 101.9 Volume IV (I just felt like I needed a good jazz compilation) Chris Spheeris - Eros (I've always loved his stuff!) Peter Kater - Compassion/Music for the healing arts, forgiveness, tran- scendence and peace (I liked what I heard of this at the listening station) I also had a couple of '80's compilations in my basket, but decided I was going a tad overboard and put them back. Oh, and I picked up the April/May edition of Launch, with Paula Cole on the cover (in those adorable pigtails) and samples from Natalie Imbruglia and Mary Lou Lord among others. Jill :D thinking of some new shopping strategies.... ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V4 #142 **************************
