We >all had sudden thoughts of Roswell, NM. > > Hey, yeah, and while we're on the subject of really cool Intelligent Lite tricks, I can remember the opening of the IG concert a couple of years ago when they played up here. Band de Soleil had done a fairly standard opening act set with normal, stationary lights, and then the IG came on and started Fugitive. The quiet beginning guitar noodling was in absolute darkness, and then when the band came in all of the lights swished upwards as if they were raising this immense curtain of light on the hockey rink. It was one of those moments when you just step back and say, "oooh." Stadium concerts may remove the closeness of the audience to the performer, but there's some pretty awesome stuff all the same. - --Kay np: Siberry, The Walking nr(again): A Midsummer Night's dream for my next Costume Design project...Any suggestions for cool faerie costumes? - --------------------------------------------------- Kay S. Dead Can Dance _Twilight Moons_ What's this? I just got the new Lisa Gerrard album last night--is there a new DCD album as well? The new Lisa Gerrard/Pieter Bourke album is great. I wasn't sure what to expect, but its very much in the vein of her first solo album, the Mirror Pool (even down to the font on the sleeve). Beautiful album--though I almost fell out of my chair when she actually sang intelligible English on one song. I'm sending this "reminder" to each of you with a *Bacon Factor* of one or less vis`a-vis this great artist, as a reminder of the rare and unique opportunity to hear the remarkable talents of Cindy Lee Berryhill, live, on earth, and SOON! Date: April 16 (that's THIS Thursday) Time: 9:31 p.m. (so, set the VCR for Seinfeld, Must Tape TV) Place: Genghis Cohen Cantina, on Fairfax, in Los Angeles This should be a terrific show. I wouldn't want to say I missed alerting anyone to it. Seeya! - -=-Larry-=- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Apr 1998 13:07:46 -0700 From: "Neil K. And we've decided to add an artist profile of Victoria Williams to the collection. I'm trying to dig up some good basic bio pages... any suggestions? Thanks! - Neil K. PS: yes, this is a "deadline suddenly moved" scramble, so stuff sent today would be appreciated. (stuff sent tomorrow will be equally appreciated, just not useful :) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Apr 1998 17:23:12 -0500 From: "Mike Mendelson" Subject: Out of the loop, wanting in Hello all! This is your friendly neighborhood palindrome man dusting off the cobwebs. I have been snooping around for a while now, but still feel hopelessly loopless. My request: send me a list of the top 10 CD's I need to buy to get me back into the loop. I HATE TOP 10 LISTS. PLEASE DO NOT SEND THIS TO THE GENERAL LIST. Send them straight to me: mjmjm@usa.net This list should be the absolute ecto MUST listen-to items from about the last 6-12 months. Don't spend too much time on this. I will assemble some sort of consensus among the submissions I get and post my reactions to the CDs I buy after I get them. It should be interesting to see if people agree on the 'essentials'. Hope you're all *great*. As for myself I am now employed at a company in near where I live that does Music Education Software (very cool!). And my a cappella group Listen Up! just came out with our second CD. Anyone wishing more details should send me private email. Again, mjmjm@usa.net Stay warm, ecto-friends! - -mjm ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Apr 1998 18:20:09 -0500 From: Richard Subject: Re: Intelligent lighting--notaslong > > n.p.
