Service unavailable The '551 Go away!' message means that they've blocked your ISP (ix.netcom.com) which is well-known as a trouble spot on the net. You might want to consider getting an ISP that deals with spam more aggressively. Argh! I hadn't even heard about this! But I'll be performing that night in Baltimore anyway... I just got back from an quick zoom to NYC for the Seder. I caught the 6 AM bus in so I could do some mad EWS in the city. Got 16 CDs, of which the only two really ectorelevant (unless you count Chris Rea or Pauline Oliveros) were Grey Eye Glances "Eventide" and something potentially interesting called Chimera Earth Loop... or maybe the band is Chimera and the album is Earth Loop... or vice versa. They were bout $1.99 used at Kim's. (Other snarfage: Butch Morris, Anthony Braxton, Terry Riley, Demetrio Stratos, Arto Lindsay, Joan La Barbara, Ulrich Kriger, SXL, Paul Schutze, Pualine Oliveros and Randy Raine- Reusch, Thomas Koener, Nijiumu, and Thomas Chapin. Since not everyone has access to the web who is on ecto, it seems like it would be really nice to post any announcements that people might care about directly to the list. Here's the what's new section clipped from the site. Sounds pretty exciting. Anyone have any idea when we can expect to see tour dates released? Neal np: Black Uhuru - Guess WHo's Coming To Dinner [INLINE] What's New?... [INLINE] The release date for Many Worlds Are Born Tonight is slated for August 11. Radio play is being targeted for Triple A, Alternative and College Radio. She is now working on a radio mix of her first single, "Roy." If you hear Happy on the radio, please be sure to call in and request and/or thank the station. Happys tour, which will commence in August, will be a multi-media event with projection screens and Intelligent Lighting. Happy will have a six-piece band (not including herself). There will be many surprises, including the participation of a well-known CD-Rom Adventure Game company. Details to follow... Happys set list will include every song from the new album, plus four others from the back-catalog. She hopes to make the show very special and it will only be booked in auditoriums and halls with a 500-3000 seat capacity. The first show might be Philly. Hopefully, the tour will include all of the U.S. Ticket prices may be higher than those for past HR shows due to the overhead for this type of show. But she will try to keep prices as low as she can. As always, Ms. Rhodes asks that during the tour, if anyone takes pictures, please send her copies at Aural Gratification, P.O. Box 380, Bearsville, NY 12409. Keep in mind that some venues have strict policies about photographing and you may not be allowed to take cameras in. Always check ahead so that your electronics dont get confiscated. I don't have any idea what this festival is. I just copied the date and name down from the Nields schedule that was posted here not long ago. They have enough stuff on the Mall any given year that another music festival wouldn't be at all out of the oridnary. It'll probably be at the Sylvan Theater, just south of the Washington Monument. Keep your eyes on the Post weekend section or DC CIty Paper for details. Neal np: Barrington Levy - Englishman ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V4 #114 **************************
