For the most actual information please go to the official Loreena McKennitt homepage at http://www.quinlanroad.com (the tour information, including the European tourdates that I posted some time ago, is at http://www.quinlanroad.com/tour2.html ). I'm feeling very fortunate to be able to see Loreena in concert not once, but even twice next week! Here are the very few dates that have been announced so far for Canada and the US: Canada: May 3 - 6 3 and 4 May 1998 Toronto Massey Hall 416 872 4255/416 870 8000 6 May 1998 Montreal Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, Place des Arts 514 842 2112/ 514 790 1245/1 800 361 4595 United States: May 7 and 13 7 May 1998 New York City Radio City Music Hall 212 247 4777/212 307 7171 13 May 1998 Los Angeles Universal Amphitheater 213 252 8497 I don't know when tickets go on sale (they may be on sale already!), but from the discussion on the Old Ways mailing list I gather they are quite expensive. The best date would seem to be Saturday the 1st of August, so we'll go with that. After years of living in a tiny, cramped, 4 room apartment, we've finally moved to a large, 6 room (7 including the bathroom) apartment, so we have plenty of space to do a proper bash. It's about time! It should be fun...there certainly won't be a lack of things to watch, listen to or read! We'll have a video projector and a large screen set up in the living room. At least 3 other rooms will have TVs and VCRs set up, and 2 rooms will have stereos for either personal (via headphones) or "public" listening of music, Kate or (for the curious) otherwise. I'm assuming that lots of "otherwise" will be consumed. We encourage it! We'll have at least 2 computers set up, with an ISDN connection. If anyone wants to come from a distance and needs a place to crash, we can take a few. We'll have a bed (or maybe a futon) set up in the back room, plus there will be 2 couches and lots of floor space for air mattresses. As the date gets nearer, we'll ask folks to e-mail us for the exact address and directions. We're in a fairly easy-to-get to area, close to major streets and public transportation. Looking forward to celebrating Kate's 20th year in the public ear! (cc'd to Ecto, since it can also be a celebration of Happy's b'day, and Ectophiles are warmly invited.)
