Alana Davis co-hosted the M2 Hour on MTV yesterday and chatted with Janice Dunn about her cover of "32 Flavors." Although she has not talked with Ani personally, Alana has heard through Ani's manager that the Righteous Babe Herself liked it. Intriguing, then. That makes *3* versions of the album...Yngve's would be the Norwegian (and presumably original). Then there's the one Bob has, which matches my own CD. The version I taped (and no, I didn't reprogram the CD player to change the track order!) places "Spiderdust" between "Die Geschichte einer Mutter" and "Mornixuur." I taped this version from a CD back in...er...'92, though I don't recally whose CD I borrowed to do so. I was about to say that maybe it was Beth Perry (an ectophile of many moons ago), who would have likely had a Canadian release, but now that I think about it, she didn't have the CD at the time. So now I *really* want to know where the version on my tape came from! thanks for the responses so far, though... jeff ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Jan 1998 09:23:04 -0800 (PST) From: "Scott S. I don't remember saying that, did I write it in a review or email message or something? hmmmmmmmm... one of us is losing our mind! Anyway, I take that back as a description if indeed I ever offered it. Well, maybe I need to refresh my memory with the whopping one mll disc I have, but it is fun music, some jingle jangle and all.... Well, not always fun, but here and there.... Actually, for fun Mary music there's no beating Mary WYER and Even As We Speak. I've been on a EAWS kick lately. - --Scott ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Jan 1998 14:51:26 -0600 (CST) From: "Joseph S. I'm really looking forward to this album. It's not necessarily in the ecto-style, but they are a great band. The play really hot jump-swing. You could've heard them in the movie (or on the soundtrack) Swingers. They are part of what I hope is a refreshing trend in recent music. I'm relatively new to swing and jazz. My friends keep throwing more at me every day. Louis Jordan is one of my faves. It's fun music to listen to and even better for dancing. Check em out!
