Is the rest of the album any better? First of all, it's good to hear that Meredith's boss actually asked for some new music. That's great! Although I first enjoyed "You Oughta Know", I am now sick of it. Our two "alternative" stations really like it - and it's got a huge following here. The local paper runs a "top 20" for Omaha, and it's now in the top 5. What makes this amazing is that an "alternative" tune is this high. Which is also why I'm sick of it. I did have the opportunity to track through this at a local shop, and wasn't impressed. I was actually thinking of buying this, but was glad I got Mae Moore's _Bohemia_ instead. There must be other unhappy souls with it as well, since it's already made it into the used CD bins. General question: there are two Lois discs in a shop's used CD bins. I've seen her discussed on this list before, but I'm not sure what "type" of music she performs. Who is she closest to? What does her music form remind you of? I am beginning to dislike "well, she sounds like Tori", because - to my ears, at least - no one sounds like anybody else. True, you can have a singer mimic another's vocal sound, but she will have her own distinct sound anyway. Anyone who says otherwise needs their head examined. :-) Like anything in life, it can be used and abused. It can be good for some and bad for others. It depends on a lot of factors. It can save lives and can hurt others. Each case is individual. I personally tend to think that it can help more than it hurts and it might just be a matter of finding the right person. Psyciatrists are just people. Some are bad at what they do and some are good at what they do. They're not gods and they're not villans. I've seen my share of psychiatrists and therapists...As an inpatient and as an outpatient...I've had good ones and some *really* bad ones. Perhaps some of the bad ones caused me damage but I don't believe it was intentional and with malicious intent. They just didn't "get" me and a lot of that was my fault. I hid a lot of things from people who might have helped me if they'd known more details about me. There are no absolutes. That's the only thing I'm sure about. > Let me know...
