Immediately (if not sooner), make a copy of your remaining tapes, as high quality as you can, then put them somewhere safe and comfortable. Trash the hell out the other copies and when they die, make another copy to trash. [minor rant concluded] that said, i tend to buy records still if i can find them. cds are just to expensive to jusitify the cost of a single disc (even through note- worthy) for it to become the primary medium that i purchase. cassettes are too flimsy, so records i buy. and cds i purchase when there is enough incentive: extra tracks, not available on vinyl, etc. [happy content warning] sent a friend at smith college a compilation tape and she absolutely adores "would that i could". instant convert - just add water. :) gods, this is almost as much fun as sending people KaTeTapes... for the record: july 28 (doug knows the year - the year of the pueblo incident...). leo. growl. there was something else that i was going to mention, but i forgot what it was. oh well. woj@remus.rutgers.edu - heil erland!/soas - born to be fast-forwarded... ======================================================================== Date: Mon, 14 Oct 91 17:20 CDT From: chaz@chinet.chi.il.us (Charlie Kestner) Subject: Birthdays August 15, 1956 (yes, that's a 5 in there :-) I don't believe in Astrology, but they tell me I'm a Leo. I first got the lyrics off the lyrics server when it was still up, but I didn't trust 'em. Some stuff seemed a bit weird or kind of off. A while later, a friend of mine was in the public library in Bloomington, IN (where I went to school) and found the record available to be checked out. Upon further investigation, he found that the record had the lyrics on the sleeve! Knowing my love for _No Borders Here_ and the frustration I felt over not having a clue about the "Map of the World (Part 1)" lyrics, he checked out the record for me. So I got to see the "official" lyrics. >At any rate ill give it another listen....but I think i like bitchin >better :) -- i mean she does use f**king in _Hockey.....*smile* Yes, but "...so don't fuckin' tell me where to fuckin' go" fits perfectly in with the song--a bunch of kids playing hockey on a pond/lake during the winter. Ladyslipper is a collective of women who put together a catalog/resource guide of music by women's artists. They are a combination distributor/retailer (ie. both stores and individuals order from them). In addition to this, they run a small independent label. I would suspect that Happy would only use them as a retailer/distributor. Kevin would most likely not be included due to his gender. BTW, Kate gets high praise from their staff.
