So once they showed good taste in music. That impression was of course immediately spoiled by the next song which forced me to switch the radio off. Talking about musical surprises: I've heard from the Bel Canto mailing list that MTV Europe played a Bel Canto video! 8-O And MTVs "Post Modern" yesterday night had Kate Bushs "Cloudbusting", unfortunately with a soundtrack that sounded like they left it in the rain for a year. Oh yes, and I heard World Party doing a cover of "Ashes to Ashes", followed by the original version, and I must say that after hearing Happy singing it on WMMR they both sounded quite boring. A small Happy selection has just gone to another Klaus in Norderstedt (near Hamburg). :) I've just done some more work on the Happy Rhodes discography, which is nearly finished, as I see it. I've sent a copy to Happy & Kevin and asked them for comments/corrections/additions so I will wait for a reply before I make it widely available. Also, my e-mail address will change in a couple of weeks, so I'll also wait for that as I don't want to publish something with an address which soon will be unavailable. There will be more changes, as the whole of Germany will get shiny new 5 digit zip codes on the 1st of July, but I don't consider this a reason important enough to delay the discography. :) While browsing through the equipoise booklet I noticed that Happy is only listed as H.Rhodes (with only one exception), whereas it always was the complete name on the other 5 albums. Doesn't she like her name anymore? *yawn* time to get some sleep Tschuess, Klaus. I was flipping channels and came upon the end of what I *think* was _L.A. Law_, but don't quote me. I don't have a TV Guide to check. It was a courtroom drama anyway, but it didn't look like a TV movie. There was a character named "Rosalie" and she could have been Happy's twin sister! It was uncanny, and I'm going crazy because I have no idea what her real name is. I watched the ending credits, and of course it wasn't listed. I have no idea if she's a regular on the show, but I doubt it. In the two minutes I saw, the character was a slightly, um..."developmently disadvantaged" young woman who had been raped. When I tuned in the jury had just found the guy guilty, then Rosalie, her mother and a friend walked to the elevator. The actress was made up to look rather plain and a bit nerdy looking, but as I watched her I could imagine what she looked like normally. Happy's long-lost sister, I swear! Arrgh! How can I find out who she is? If Happy ever goes into acting, someone *has* to put these two together. Hey, maybe someone on the West Coast is reading this and can still catch it. It's on NBC, whatever it is. Just in case, I'll go ahead and send this now. Vickie ps, I guess someone had to do it...I just saw an AT&T commercial using Peter's "Come Talk To Me." Cool! (Oh, and not >too long ago, tonight, the Free Spirit shoe commercial using Pamela >Golden was shown. I'm glad it's still running) Didn't I post about that Free Spirit one recently? Guess not. There's a *second* Free Spirit commercial that also features "Ballet Dream", but I'm pretty certain it's a different mix of the song. Unfortunately, when I first heard it, I hadn't heard _Happens All the Time_ for a while, so it could have been my imagination. What? These morons are calling themselves 'admins'? I might start thinking of taking a song 'slightly' out of context and saying "Me and a Gun and a red mess at a computer terminal". "Happy Rhodes." "Who else?" "Just her." "Using some electronic manipulation thing?" "Nope, that's her voice." "DAMN!" There are at least three Happy Rhodes fans in Pasadena; most of the CD stores didn't have any HR CDs, but the Tower there (which, incidentally, is one of the places Sarah works) does have them. Sarah was also very impressed by the signed liner notes, so she's going to get one of her very own as a gift. She also asks me "do you know of any other amazing artists that I haven't heard of?" "Well, there's this ecto list that gives good recommendations..." as I toss the other CDs I brought along (Sarah MacLaughlin, Bel Canto, Tori Amos, Moon Seven Times, Lush ....). I also finally found A Darker Passion (well, OK, Sarah looked it up in their database). Then it finally hit me that Jeffy showed me this months ago; I just never made the connection.
