The first, flown in Masters class, I believe, was Peter Gabriel's "The Feeling Begins" from his _Passion_ album. I've been wanting to fly to stuff off that album for a while now (though I think that "Zaar," amongst others, would have made for a better routine--"The Feeling Begins" has all those long "atmospheric synth chords" during which it's hard to do much...). The other was flown by a friend of mine, Sherrie Arnold, in the Intermediate class--"Silent All These Years"! 'Twas a very nice routine, though I think it needs refinement and practice. I don't know how long Sherrie's been working on it--the last several competitions she's been in, she's used "Calling All Angels" and I was surprised to find out she'd chosen a new song (as it was, she and her husband had chosen 4 new songs for the various categories they fly in--"Silent All These Years," "Now More Then Ever" (Dave in open quad ballet), , and U2's "One" in Experienced Pairs Ballet. Dave and Sherrie won the pairs ballet with that one!) All in all, 'twas nice to see some good, interesting music used. I'm sure Vickie would have enjoyed it! Yesterday afternoon, I hopped in the car. When I started the engine, I heard "Crucify" and immediately assumed I'd left the tape in the car. It was a bit of a shock 3 minutes later to hear a DJ start talking. Has "Crucify" been released as a single? I'd never heard it on the radio before. Ah well. Off-to-work-time. Jeff |Jeffrey C. After her initial endearing flusterment :) , we talked about Tori and Happy and Gyan and concerts and tapes and Ecto and Chicago and Perth. At any moment of the day or night, no matter what you're doing, the phone could ring and you will be personally harrassed by a disembodied Australian accent. Which reminds me, I for one would like a list of Ectophilic addresses and phone numbers... a contact database, if you will. Something we could keep at hardees, maybe.
