Wow, I could expect to hear some new Happy stuff in a few days! So I was working around the house, raking leaves, doing laundry, and I decided to check the mail. And there was the package from Vickie! Wow! (Oops, that's a Kate song.) Amazing! I was very surprised to see it had arrived so quickly. Or that it had been so long (a day or two) since I had read my mail that the package had been on its way for just as long. In any case, THANKS, VICKIE! I especially like the fuzzy blue packaging. Even if the tape case doesn't want to close now. I really like the Bartlett-Rhodes songs, even if I haven't listened to them all yet. Yes, we have something special on Ecto, but I think it's partially due to the nature of the artist, and the type of person it attracts. Im not sure if the same holds true for Kate. Gaffa is still a forum for Kate discussion I highly doubt that it will change to "let's match verbal abuse" list. Many Katefans have already demonstrated a dislike for Happy, and there are some non-flaming types in that group. Vice versa is true, there are Happy fans that could give a rats ass about Kate. So to say they are the same is a broad broad generalization. Why split it?? Because I do not want Kate people in Happy's mailing list.(talking about the people who love Kate but can't stand Happy) Yes, there are some great posts about Kate that may have some relavance to Happy, but they do not belong together. She is the perfect democratic moderator. I unsubscribed from the Prince mailing list when I saw that the moderator kicked out someone who thought Prince was no Mozart. Discussion and opposing thoughts are tools to see all aspects of an artistic creation. A river of praising monologues only obstructs the view. In order to fully appreciate the whole picture you sometimes have to see and criticise the imperfections. 'Every rose has its thorns' (:-)). If you don't let anyone see them you might get hurt. Have I made my point, or do I have to go on using silly metaphors? :-) Seriously, I think that the creation of warmroom will only weaken both ecto and .gaffa. I refuse to subscribe to it, even if people I REALLY LIKE are going to be there, and I feel sorry that I will miss their posts and their discussions. Again I agree. I do not want to subscribe to warmroom, and I would rather not see multiple warmroom crossposts show up on Ecto, especially if there are already a good number of Ectophiles in the warmroom who have seen them already. I too feel sorry that I will miss your posts. But, I would much rather be in an open atmosphere where I am unafraid of being deleted or bounced because of my opinions. There will always be dissenting opinions in this world, but trying to hide from them is not the way to answer them. Im sorry that I had to post this. I have been debating with myself for a week now whether i should. I am happy to see that Angelos has taken the same sort of position. Jorn, you're a really great person, and im really glad I have had the opportunity to meet you, I sincerely hope the warmroom works.
