Well, plans are not set, but I think I will be (for Christmas) spending some time with friends and working for Project Ezra. Project Erza is a community service project where people who don't celebrate Christmas substitute for those who do who would ordinarily have to be on the job and away from their families. This is a interesting coincidence, because this past weekend Happy was interviewed by the newsletter for a feature piece that should appear soon. Please tell your friend to keep an eye out for it and to please pick up extra copies (I want one!! *please*). Also, last weekend (sorry, I forgot to post this) she was interviewed for a local Albany paper called "Buzz" and it should be quite good. Kevin said that the woman writing the article had to tell her editor that the piece was turning into a 4-page article! We very well might get mentioned, because right in the middle of the interview (done at H&K's apartment) I called and faxed the first list of Ectophile addresses. There was a bit of trouble with the fax machine and so the interview was interuppted for about 20 minutes. The woman was probably curious about what was going on (other than the fact that I don't know quite how to work our damn fax machine :-) and surely Happy gave her details about Ecto- the mailing list. I promise I'll keep everyone informed as to when the actual article appears. I'll have Kevin fax me a copy and transcribe it. Steve Veeneman and his wife and son came over today and we all went up to The Record Exchange in Evanston to see if Bill (who works there) still had any Happy in stock. In luck! Steve bought Warpaint and Ecto, so I expect we'll be hearing a report soon. Chicago Ectophiles who might need this info...Bill still has 1 copy each of Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and Rearmament, plus a CD of Warpaint. Steve, I had a great time...glad you came! Oh geez, oh, geez, oh geez. What would I need to hear Happy sing? I'm concerned that we'll all say different things (as seems to be happening) and that they'll have to do some trimming just to make the list of songs to be rehearsed manageable! But, having said that, I'll add my two cents: Songs I need to hear Happy perform: Ecto (coincidentally, a couple of weeks ago I was driving home from work, listening to Ecto, and I said to myself, "I'd give *anything* to hear this performed live) 'Til the Dawn Breaks Wretches Gone Awry Baby Don't Go Would That I Could Possessed I won't bee too greedy and mention any more. I'm glad that mine coincides with some of the others I've seen posted already. I almost certainly would have included "Given In" on the list, but I know I'll be getting that as part of the XPN interview. I think sending her a Warpaint and/or calling and talking about Happy would be fine. The record company connection isn't as important as just getting the name out to people in the business. At this point, H&K would be interested in a distribution deal, but have pretty much lost interest in obtaining a record contract. Not that they'd turn one down if the terms were right, but AG is doing well on its own. My own personal feeling (not from anything they've told me) is that, they'll do as much as they can under AG, and the day when record companies come knocking on *their* door is the day they'll be able to ask for and get the best contract possible. Be it a recording contract or a distribution deal. Vickie > Angelos > ps. I hope Vickie got the r.m.m. posts I sent her! Yes, I just got them, thanks! Were there more that you weren't able to get?
