GV and BU I've mentioned Amy X in these virtual pages before. I'd agree with Mike's appraisal of her album; some of the songs are just plain dull, but some of them are great. In fact, I'm putting one of her songs on the Bay Area Ecto Sampler (now in its third revision; I really *have* to send that off to dbx one of these years). She plays around the Bay Area occasionally, but I haven't seen her live yet. A recent review of her live show mentioned both Kate Bush and Brian Eno in describing her sound. Amy X is also great friends with, guess who, Emily Bezar. They went to school together, loan each other equipment, and thank each other in their liner notes. Hey, all. Just a quick thanks to eveyone who responded to my query about the best Happy CDs to pick up for starters. I went out last night intending to get warpaint and/or ecto, as these sounded like a good place to start. The store I went to had a huge selection of stuff, but, to my dismay, no HR :-( Not too big a deal, the owner of the store was really helpful and ordered both CDs for me, I should get them in a couple days. Oh well, I can wait... Btw, I am glad to hear this is a flame free zone.
