Well Ecto Folks.. It is time to announce another collective breath holding ceremony..I am interviewing for another job tomorrow..one that could be really good or really bad. It is a corporate library, and I am undecided as to how I feel about working in a corporation. However, I am mostly excited and was hoping that people could spare me a thought of good luck tomorrow about 1:30 p.m. If the guy likes the looks of me I might get an offer on the spot. *pleasepleaseplease* I _really_ need to be employed before I get out of school. Anyway..thanks for your time and good wishes in the past.. you guys are great. ..... I may be moving back to massachusetts in the near future, and would like to know if anyone has ever lived or visited the Providence/Fall River area, and get some advice about where in that area to look for an apartment. Not a very musical topic admittedly, but ever since I got back from Greece I have had very little time to think about music...Thank God for ecto which keeps me somewhat tuned in to what's happening as I count the concerts that I am missing. On a Happy note, Mitch, your product line seems to be improving with every new Happy album. The 'Just like Tivoli' product had me rolling on the floor. Which reminds me that I should pre-order BTC tomorrow. On another musical note, let me point out that US ectophiles into Tom Robinson's music should look out for his first dates here in years in early October, and should rush out to their record store and buy his new CD 'Love over Rage' which is now available domestically. It's not as aggressive as his TRB work, but IMO it's better than his late 80s stuff. It has some brilliant vocals, and some rather melancholical and reflective lyrics. Not a completely unmusical post after all. I spied Jan Johnston in my local CD shop, the covers looked interesting so I decided to chance 99p each. Well worth it imho. After I got the singles I noticed this months Vox and Q mags each review her new album (due out soon). Q raves about her and describes her as a cross between Cyndi Lauper and Victoria Williams (interesting combo). Vox gives her a good slagging off!! Thanks to CDC I'm the happy owner of a Paula Cole CD which I instantly liked and a Lida Husik CD which I like bits of at the moment but I'm going to have to listen to it a lot more. As if that wasn't emough! I picked up a CD by someone called Tish Hinojosa. USAectophiles probably know her better as she's from Texas. She reminds me a lot of Iris DeMent which means she's probably a bit too "country" for some tastes. tim ======================================================================== Date: Thu, 04 Aug 1994 09:19:53 -0500 From: gmcdonald@zdi.ziff.com (glenn mcdonald) Subject: Re: Happy released in The Netherlands? >Hiya! > >I just browsed through CD Europe and found the following entries: > > B131132 RHODES HAPPY ECTO > $22.95 AU.GR HOLLAND > > B332931 RHODES HAPPY EQUIPOSE > $22.95 AU.GR HOLLAND > > B348205 RHODES HAPPY RHODESONGS > $22.95 AURAL HOLLAND > > B332930 RHODES HAPPY WARPAINT > $22.95 AU.GR HOLLAND > >Never heard that those albums were released in The Netherlands. >Can someone confirm that these really exist? If you look around in CDEurope's database you'll find that *most* of their stuff is listed as coming from Holland. My guess is that there are some distributors located there, and the country field in CDE just shows where *they* get stuff, not where it comes from originally. I've noticed Holland on a number of things that I know actually came from Japan, the UK, etc. glenn ======================================================================== Date: 04 Aug 94 11:11:24 EDT From: Mike Mendelson Subject: World Cafe Affiliates I sucked this off the folk list.
