I'd just like to respond to that little list of things that make up me: (1) Who you are? (2) Where you're from? (3) How old you are? (4) Where you first heard Dido? (5) What other musicians do you listen to? and (6) What is your favorite Dido song and video? (7) Any other scintillating information that you feel is necessary to share.. 1) AJ Cooke. Cuban/Spanish/Slovak/English. Let's just say I'm a spic, and leave it at that [IMAGE]. Please don't hate me, but I'm Republican. That's my major obstacle when it comes to relationships, people hate me because of my political beliefs. Honestly, I'm just trying to be the nicest guy I can be, and one of the biggest compliments that can be given to me is that I'm a good Catholic. (not all Republicans are minority-hating (my cousin's black), gay-bashing (I'm somewhat influential in a local gay rights group), gun-toting (although I'm a pretty good shot, I could never shoot anything that moves, much less alive), stupid (I've skipped up a grade, should be in college, and am in one of the most prestigious educational honors programs in the world), nasty SOBs. Give me a chance, please. I make for good conversation, and aim to please. Got big brown eyes, wavy brown hair, and an air of innocence and compassion. 2) I'm IN Bethesda, Maryland, though I can't say I'm from it. My dad's a diplomat in the US State Department, so I've been all over the world. To Japan, Malaysia, Portugal, and even Planet Texas (will Xplain later) [IMAGE]. I'm in deep Democrat domain right now, so I've not had much luck in dating, friendships, or even respectful conversation (except with weed-smoking seniors). 3) 14, in grade 10 at Richard Montgomery High School. 4) Heard her once on MTV at 1215 hours ZULU time (6:15 AM EST), and liked "Thank You" a bit. Heard it again the same time next day, noticed that I really liked it. Downloaded it off Napster, and it was heartbreaking. It had a good meditative effect, I listened to it for hours on end. A few days ago, I saw the music video on MTV again and I thought that I'd tape it. Song ended by time I got blank tape. Went looking on the Internet for a copy of the music video in digital form. Found this site in connection with www.alanismorisettefans.com or however it's spelled, and by the way I like Alanis Morisette too, and decided to sign up for the newsletter. 5) I have VERY wierd musical tastes. Despite my Republican nature I'm somewhat into 70's hippie/treehugger music and good ol' southern-style ROCK!!! "Stairway to Heaven" (which I downloaded!!! 15 megs minimum!! SWEET!!!) by Led Zep of course, Kansas' "Carry on my Wayward Son" (which is almost as good as Stairway but you can't dance to it), George Thorogood and the Destroyers' "BAD TO THE BONE" (always one of my favorites), Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" (only good song they did), ANYTHING Cat Stevens (which has become pretty rare since he converted to Islam and renounced his wealth), same for Eric Clapton, AND GOD BLESS LYNYRD SKYNYRD (God rest their souls (plane crash, not drugs)). The only group I'm into that's remotely contemporary is Hootie and the Blowfish (who sadly broke up recently). Yeah, Hootie. He rocks! Eagerly awaiting his new album. I'm also deep into Wierd Al (aren't all reclusive geniuses?). 6) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! (No Angel wasn't that bad either) 7) I would just like to use this space to ask you guys whether you have some internet meeting place of some sort. Dido chat room. *smiles* Yeah, baby! I'll check the site out. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ____________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a message to dido-request@smoe.org with UNSUBSCRIBE as the body of your message. ____________________________________________________________ http://didolist.cjb.net ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Apr 2001 03:16:29 EDT From: Kueenz8284@aol.com Subject: [Dido] New to list In a message dated 4/14/01 3:01:14 AM Eastern Daylight Time, Majordomo@smoe.org writes: > (1) Who you are? my name is Jenny Perez > (2) Where you're from?
