I have a short write-up here: http://www.newsgoat.com/2006/05/12/catie-curtis-at-the-blue-door/ It was a great show -- the audience was really into it. Was anyone else from the list there? Also, you might want to check out the young artist who opened for her, Carter Sampson: http://www.cartersampson.com/ Anyway, just thought I'd share, - -- human://billy.j.mabray/ http://www.newsgoat.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 May 2006 23:10:07 -0700 (PDT) From: Amber Whisenhunt Subject: RE: [dads-yard] Catie in OKC Hey all, I was at the Blue Door to see Catie Curtis a few weeks ago, it was one of her best shows yet and I see her as often as possible. I have to agree that any artist would be hard pressed to find a better audience and the Blue Door has been the host of most of my favorite shows by artists I've seen again and again. I currently live in Tulsa and will drive to the Blue Door any chance I get to see great music, it is always worthwhile. I'm so happy you finally got to see Catie, it's a great experience. Catie was actually the first concert I went to other than those as a child when I got to see her play in OKC in 1996 or 1997 at one of the buildings at the fairgrounds. That show was great, but it was nothing compared to the blue door! - -Amber - --- Billy Mabray wrote: > Date: Fri, 12 May 2006 16:00:14 -0500 > From: "Billy Mabray" > To: dads-yard@smoe.org > Subject: [dads-yard] Catie in OKC > > Hey folks, > > Almost two weeks ago, my wife and I got to see Catie > at the Blue Door > in Oklahoma City. But, hey, dontcha know the rules? Gotta get the set list and tell stories, etc...this "it was one of her best shows yet" and "it was a great show" don't cut it! Some of us have been around a LONG time..."best show yet" is a tall order...what made it so? What are some the new songs she sang? Previews of Long Night Moon? Any of her story patter that was particularly humorous or poignant? Come on, now... Oh...and if you haven't already...come on over to CatieCurtis.net (http://www.catiecurtis.net) and join the forum...and share your stories there too!
