I'll post a link up over on www.catiecurtis.net too. Haven't talked to Catie in a while, good to hear the little one is home! : ) Congrats to Liz & Catie...wow, they'll really have their hands full now! LOL I also had seen in the Olivia brochure that Catie's signed up for the Mexican Riveria cruise in the fall. If I didn't already have plans to travel in Europe...alas. ;) And TOTALLY unrelated to music, Catie or anything else vaguely related...but I'm so excited I just have to share! : ) As you may have assumed from my signature I'm a sailor...true. For the last couple of months, I've been avidly following two events that are huge in the offshore sailing world...heck, sailing world in general. Both are solo races around the world...one against other competitors - the Vendee Globe (http://www.vendeeglobe.org/uk/home), and one against the clock - Ellen MacArthur's (www.teamellen.com) solo round-the-world speed record attempt. The podium positions have completed the Vendee, but it's still fun and exciting to see how the rest of the fleet is doing. There's a good race on for 4th & 5th. But even more exciting to me is that Ellen is about to cross the line...with the new record!! Barring any collisions or catastrophic failure in the last 100 miles...she will be the youngest, fastest, only woman, and only the 2nd person to ever be successful in this attempt...and she's gonna break the record of 72 days, 22 hours, 54 minutes, 22 seconds. What she's done is simply beyond amazing...truly. If you're not a sailor, it may be harder to understand...but just imagine sailing a 72 foot trimaran by yourself as fast as you can (and that can be pretty darn fast!!) for 2.5 months or about 28,000 miles. In the mean time contending with 60 knot winds, 100 foot waves, iceburgs, little to no sleep, sometimes no wind, strategizing every moment to keep going as fast as you can without breaking the boat. It'll be good that this is all about over, because I think this has all contributed to my computer addiction habit! Go check it out! GO ELLEN GOOOOOOO! A douf! : ) Heather Jacky Abromitis wrote: I had an opportunity to interview Catie for my site, L-word.com.
