Interesting enough, a work colleague and I were just discussing the other day how WXPN seems to be shifting, maybe becoming "younger" in its playlist, and no longer has folks like Nields, Melissa Ferrick, Dar Williams, Richard Shindell, Lucy Kaplansky, SONiA, etc., in heavy rotation (if they ever did, in the case of some artists). They all but ignored the latest cds from most of the above artists. Glad to hear Catie Curtis on World Cafe, but I haven't heard her played there otherwise. It's not really that I dislike what they do play, it's just that they play less of some of my faves -- and yours, too. To that end, I think it might be a wakeup call to them if there is heavy turnout at the polls for some of these folks. I hate to think those artists are becoming irrelevant to WXPN, because they certainly are not irrelevant to me.
