Have you asked the store's employees? So often I've heard folks complain about a store not having a particular CD and when I've asked if they asked, they admit that they did not ask. Usually the items are, in fact, in the stores, just not obviously. If they are not, how is the store to know that there is demand for an artist if the consumer peeks in, shrugs shoulders and leaves? Most of these clerks (if you can catch one at the BB) don't mind looking Catie up on their computers, telling you if they have or had any in stock and how many, informing you of when they expect to get them in stock and, if not, letting you know that they'll "gladly special order it for you" at no additional charge. Which suburban part of Chicago are you checking? Here in central NC, not the biggest Catie market (yet), I've always found her CDs at BB, Borders and B&N (as well as the indie stores). I believe I even saw DIRL at our new Super Target. There's really no reason, being on Vanguard, why she wouldn't be in these stores. All of her labels (Vanguard, Rykodisc, Guardian, Hear) enjoy(ed) national distribution. Still, even if you already own copies (and back-ups) of all Catie's CDs, it's a good thing to ask about them when you visit CD retailers. Enjoy, Rebekah. Thanks, John! I've purchased all of Catie's cd's at all of those 3 stores at one time or another, so I figured those were good bets. Maybe I'm just not the only one looking to buy her stuff, and every time I go, someone has beat me to it! (Bad for me, but great for Catie!) It's odd - but Catie seemed incredibly more animated and emotional at the recent concert I caught her at - than the CD itself. I hadn't listened to the CD before the concert, and listening to it afterwards was almost a kind of weird "let-down". Not about Caite, NOOOOO! ... just about how toned down it felt to me compared to her live versions. I have all her music and this is the first time I've felt this way. imo ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V6 #38 ******************************
