The list has been pretty quiet hoping its just that you all have been as busy as I have! Here are a few belated thoughts about Dreaming in Romance Languages. First, let me say that I *still* love the title of the CD. The album gets off to a great start with Saint Lucy. I loved it the first time I heard it live, and its stood up to that assessment through dozens of listens. Other favorites are The Night (WOW, really different, vrey cool), and Red Light, which sticks in my head for days. Overall, I love the CD. Would like to hear others' thoughts, and hope to provide mine in more detail at some point. > I really hope that the lack of comments on this > list serve about this new law is not indicative of > a lack of concern. Celeste, I am certainly not disinterested. I wrote to Warner to encourage the veto, and I wrote to representatives to ask them not to override it. Finally, I wrote to those who tried to uphold the veto (flawed as it was) to thank them. I am really quite depressed about the whole thing, which is probably part of my silence about the subject. Part of me is confident that it will be overruled in the courts, but most of me is just damned angry that it has to come to that. And the idea that in the meantime my medical and property interests might be in the hands of the family which shunned me, rather than my beloved partner... I don't think I've quite come to grips with it. So, no, my silence is anything but a lack of concern. - -- ===== Deb \\ indigo@mindspring.com \\ http://www.mindspring.com/~indigo ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 May 2004 14:32:08 -0700 (PDT) From: -Deb- Subject: [dads-yard] Re: "Dreaming..." Do you have to order it online or somethng? I haven't been able to find it yet (suburban Chicago - Best Buy, Border's, B&N) and I've looked at least once a week since it was released. Do they have other Catie Curtis albums? Sometimes they put some women artists in a special section of "women's music", don't know about Border's or B&N, but some Tower stores (not all) do this, and Tower carries it. Ask a record-store clerk if you can order it from them, or you can go to Tower's online website and order it, it's cheaper (14.99), exact site is John ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 May 2004 19:47:27 -0500 From: "Pam" Subject: Re: Re[2]: [dads-yard] "Dreaming..." Thanks, John! I've purchased all of Catie's cd's at all of those 3 stores at one time or another, so I figured those were good bets. Maybe I'm just not the only one looking to buy her stuff, and every time I go, someone has beat me to it! (Bad for me, but great for Catie!)
