Folky! Funky maybe, but not folky! Speaking as a Laura fan as well as a Catie fan, Laura can be quite folky indeed. I'm thinking of her album of bluegrass and old-time music with Jo Miller. I'm thinking of Shenandoah from her latest album, and old blind Bartimus from _Octoroon_. That being said, "she was high energy, rockin', and funny" too. I thought the two shows I saw were a wonderful collaboration. No one was upstaging anyone and all four performers (Jen Todd and Jimmy too) seemed to enjoy themselves. Jen played one of her own songs. The second show was one long set without a break. I'm so glad they decided to do this tour together. The only minor disappointment was Catie said she couldn't do Same Dream for me. And I recommend it as a first Laura Love album for anyone interested in checking her out, though it is certainly more "funky" (vs. "folky") than some of her other stuff. I'd compare LL to Ani DiFranco in terms of "funk factor" (and "righteousness"). :-) Jo Norvelle Walker wrote: > ...Speaking as a Laura fan as well as a Catie fan, Laura can be quite folky > indeed.
