Hey everyone, sorry for the cross-post but I need some info about both Catie Curtis's recent tour and the Indigo Girls recent club tour and was hoping someone on either of these lists has seen one or both of these shows. So, here in Minneapolis the Indigo Girls club show for Become You is on Thursday, as is Catie's show! AGGGH! My gf and I already have tickets for the IG show, but it's early, supposed to start around 7, and last between 45 minutes and 1 hour...Catie's show starts at 8, but she has an opening act....we're wondering if anyone out there has been to either show and can tell us 1) what time the IG have been starting and how long their shows have been running and 2) what time Catie has been going on after her opening acts As you can tell, we're thinking of trying to go to both, if anyone thinks it's doable! (We don't mind if we miss a LITTLE of Catie, but want to know if we're going to miss like the whole show!) I think Catie played for about 90 minutes at the Birchmere. >i thought it was interesting to see a previous post that thought that >laura love was to "folky". i thought the complete opposite, she was high >energy, rockin', and funny. I felt the same. Folky! Funky maybe, but not folky! >there was almost a collective sigh of relief from the audience during the >break as our adrenalin-rush came down. Yeah, I thought she was an awfully hard act for Catie to follow... I mean, going from that super-funky cover of "Fly Like an Eagle" to "Bicycle Named Heaven" was a pretty tough transition. Not that I don't like BNH, but it was very difficult to "downshift" after Laura's high-energy set! >as always, catie was great, she played a couple of new songs, and jimmy >ryan played a song off of his upcoming albulm. Yeah, I liked it. I plan to post a more detailed review as soon as I get my notes together. - -- Deb \\ indigo@mindspring.com \\ http://www.mindspring.com/~indigo ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V4 #32 ******************************
