Hey, everyone! Deb checked with Catie. Catie said she was cool with it. So... Catie's cover of Silent Night from the (now out of print) Snow Angels holiday sampler CD is now available for download (as an MP3 file, of course) at my "stealth" Catie site ("http://www.mark.umd.edu/~mark/catie"). As always, please read the disclaimer on the site before attempting any downloads. Much thanks to Deb, our "Catie Liaison", for getting Catie's okay. Off topic, I'm sure many here have heard of Charlotte Church. Don't know if many of you have had a chance to actually hear this 15-year-old soprano from Wales, but she is quite awesome (especially considering her age). She does mostly operatic tunes, but has lately branched out with some Celtic, folk, jazz, and show tunes (on a new album called Enchantment), and I just can't say enough good things about her and her voice. (I mean, my God, she was 12 when she recorded her first album!) Just thought I'd mention her because she's a recent discovery of mine, and I thought you all would at least dig her initials. :-) Give her (and Enchantment) a listen if you haven't already. Anyway, enjoy Silent Night, and happy holidays to everyone! Now is Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is keeping me entertained. Question... Does anyone have a "complete" list of all the different compilations Catie appears on? I know we've had this discussion before, but it was a long time ago and I can't remember them all. The ones off the top of my head are: Respond, Snow Angels, a Putamayo collection that has Wolf on it, I think...of which I have all...but I feel like I'm forgetting something. Or maybe there are other ones out there I haven't heard of (gasp!;). AND... I finally got and was able to sit and watch the Miss Folk America video. Pretty damned funny. Must admit, kind of reminded me of a glorified camp skit...cheesy and kind of long...but funny none-the-less. And goodness!, I had no idea there was such a kiss scene in there with Kris and Jennifer! ;) Will be curious if Jesus Has Two Mommies makes it to video! Happy, happy...
