I'll take a slight loss rather than lose all my $ - so it's $60.00 for the pair. Please email me privately. Living in Texas, I know very little about the Boston folk scene. Plus, I was only familiar with Catie and that did not make it less funny or interesting. I would recommend getting it. >i know that there was a conversation about this before--i'm afraid i >skimmed most of it, b/c i knew i wouldn't be able to go, & also i >didn't know that much about it. but having perused the website & >watched the trailer, i am tempted to purchase the video. > >my concern is that it won't be funny for someone who is not well >versed in the boston folk scene (i'm not). can anyone shed light on >this for me? thanks! > >johanna _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Jun 2001 17:39:58 -0400 From: johanna Subject: Re: [dads-yard] Ms. Folk America ouch--i guess i put "miss" instead of "ms." yikes! darn social conditioning! I haven't posted to the list for a very long time, but I'm contemplating the idea of travelling from western Canada all the way down to RI for the NFF in August. The thing is, being MORE than green to the geography of RI (and the entire east coast!) and the ways of getting around there, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to places to stay/lodge and still be able to take in the FF, even commuting from wherever I have to to do so. I hope this somewhat makes sense. I guess I'm looking for a starting point for which to begin researching how I could do this. I'd appreciate any comments from you. Thanks!! Hi all... I haven't posted to the list in a long time, but recently I've been contemplating taking a trip from western canada down to take in the NFF. The thing is, having SOOOO little knowledge of the east coast and the geography, I'm not sure how to go about looking for lodging and flight info...where to fly into, what's close, that sorta thing. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it a HEAP!!! Thanks!!!! You'll want to fly into Boston or Providence RI. If you fly into Boston you can take a ferry that runs 2x a day to Newport, otherwise you'll have to drive. We've always stayed at the Best Western in Newport (It's usually the only thing available this late in the year) and it is certainly one of the most reasonably priced hotels, although not within walking distance to anything! you can go to www.travelocity.com and search for lodging using the code NPT or go to the folk festival website www.newportfolk.com for other suggestions. The General Info is very helpful for first-time festival goers. I had offered a copy to the list some time ago and maybe I should do it again. So here's the deal. If you would like a copy of Dandelion CD, please e-mail me privately with your snail mail address. Last time, I asked to have a blank CD-R disk sent along with SASE. However, this time I ask you to send me eight 34-cent stamp (comes to $2.72 which should cover the cost of a CD-R disk, postage & envelop) - I think this will be much easier. I will e-mail you my address when I receive your request. There will be no cd inserts - I just don't have a time. However, I can send them to you as an attachment via e-mail. Masaki ps... If you are from outside of the US (I have a request from Germany), just e-mail me your address and don't bother with the stamps.
