I am looking forward to being able to hear that song about the church burning again, but it always takes me so long to get into a new Catie CD that I'm kind of wishing that I had even more time to prepare! Count yourself lucky if you live in the northeast. The rest of us rarely get to see Catie live, so we're a little unprepared when a new album is released. Anna "Most people don't realize how important librarians are. I ran across a book recently which suggested that the peace and prosperity of a culture was solely related to how many librarians it contained. Possibly a slight overstatement. But a culture that doesn't value its librarians doesn't value ideas and without ideas, well, where are we?" --Neil Gaiman _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Jun 2001 14:22:18 -0700 (PDT) From: j stack Subject: Re: [dads-yard] "My Shirt Looks Good on You" Thanks for the replies, I'm looking forward to the new CD. Plus Catie will be in chicago in a few weeks (6/23) so hopefully I will hear a preview of the new songs. joan - --- Deb wrote: > >From: Mail2masa@aol.com > > > >It seems advance copies of Catie's new cd is > floating on Ebay (Catie won't be > >happy to hear this.) > > She certainly wasn't. So close, yet so far away. Luckily, I have Mary Chapin Carpenter's new one to tide me over for a while. Any other MCC fans out there? I found out about Catie through an MCC show a few years back. Anyway, I think her new CD is amazing...her best work since Come On, Come On in my opinion. What else is everybody listening to this summer, at least until August 21st? - -Jeff ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Jun 2001 21:51:28 EDT From: BBerge79@aol.com Subject: Re: [dads-yard] MCC new cd I agree about this MCC Cd being a great one. Until Catie's new Cd comes out, I am listening to the new MCC, the new ( well, fairly new) Dar Williams CD, Richard Shindell and Terry Callier. On a related note, I just saw Cheryl Wheeler last weekend and she sang a bunch of new songs. I am almost positive that she will be coming out with a new album soon. Cheers! Not much new, just kind of going through what I have on the shelves. Some Dar, some Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer, some Lucy Kaplansky...
