".wav" files are not all the same. If you are using the SB software it lets you select which sort of file to create - try and find the most appropriate. Beware of getting a sound card newer than your PC. The cheap ones rely a lot on processor power and if you have a non-MMX (Multi Media Extension) processor they won't work at all.
