Being the kind of person and songwriter catie is...a lot of her songs have 
social messages kids could stand to learn from...there are so many to choose 
from, here are a few of my suggestions:

- --- "Street Shoes" - we don't always know who those folks on the street are 
and the lives they've lived, but they're real people too
- --- "Larry" - acceptance for who we are by some, but not by society...and the 
harm that can do to a person
- --- "What's the Matter" - about being and living who you are, goes well with 
"Radical" and "I Don't Cry Anymore"
- --- "Roses" & "Same Dream"- war is hell
- --- "Burn Your Own House Down" - friendship, love, and support
- --- "Grandmother's Name" - the pain of alzheimer's or dementia for the person 
and her loved ones
- --- "Wise to the Ways" - the sensationalism of journalism and the media and 
it's incessant pervasiveness into our culture
- --- "River Winding" - what happens to a town and its people when industry 
collapses
