Rather than calling her a bluegrass artist, I prefer to think of her as a great singer-songwriter who happens to ply her trade in the bluegrass genre. She writes about relationships, social issues and all kinds of great stuff. I happened across her a few years ago at the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival in Woodstown, NJ, and was blown away. Great music, great lyrics, great playing! Her following is much greater out West than here on the East Coast, but I try to catch her every time she's around Philadelphia. I envy those who get to see her often. And I was glad to hear her on Prairie Home Companion a couple weeks ago. Yay! Anyone who is interested in joining my group, feel free to head to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LaurieLewisFans Thanks!
