Maybe Catie would be willing to do something like this for us? No fancy artwork required as far as I'm concerned. It does not cost much to produce a small quantity of CD's these days. Speaking of Dar, if I may, some of you may be interested to know that Dar is returning to Princeton NJ to do another benefit for the Coalition for Peace Action and this year for a Trenton based community group called Isles. This year's concert is called "Concert for Peace in Our Community". The date is 2/3/2001, the venue (as last year) is the Nassau Presbyterian Church (Catie performed there once upon a time and it was a great show). Tickets range from $25 to $110 (which includes pre-concert dinner). For information or to order tickets call the coalition office (609)924-5022 or toll-free (888)820-7707 weekdays from 9:30-5:30. Last year the tickets sold out early. (I bought mine today.) I wish I could say that Catie was opening for Dar, but this is not the case. Jo (who fortunately has the Dandelion cassette but who would love to buy a copy on CD) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Dec 2000 02:58:38 -0500 From: Jo Norvelle Walker Subject: [dads-yard] other artists -- Pat Humphries While I am in the mood for writing, I received the new CD _Hands_ from Pat Humphries today, and I wanted to put in a recommendation. It is (I believe) Pat's second CD. The label is Appleseed. I have no connection other than being a fan. Parenthetically I should have said in my previous post "dar and dandelion" that I am on the concert committee for the Coalition for Peace Action, so my recommendation for the Dar concert was not totally unbiased. Anyhow, Pat, for those who don't know her material, is what I would call a Pete Seeger kind of songwriter (and I hope that neither Pat nor Pete would take offense, although Pat has the better voice). The title tune, _Hands_, is a Phil Ochs cover that I first heard or heard of about five years ago when I first saw Pat perform. Very solid peace and social justice songs, and deeply moving personal pieces also. Folkies who go to Falcon Ridge and Clearwater are probably familiar with Pat's stuff. I have never heard her perform at Falcon Ridge, but the festival traditionally closes with her song _Never Turning Back_ ("Gonna keep on walking forward...").
