I kind of like her most recent the best--crash course in roses. But her earlier CDs are great too. joan - --- BTFenton@aol.com wrote: > I'm new so I'll start with 'Hi everyone!' The last 2, "Catie Curtis" and "Crash Course in Roses" are my favorites by far. In general, the earlier CDs are more folk-y (i.e., Dar Williams), and the later ones more folk-pop (i.e., "Nomads..."-era Indigo Girls). So my suggestion would be to start with the latest and work backwards... but then, if you're a Dar fan you might start with "Truth From Lies." Oh, just buy them all, you won't be disappointed. :-) - -- Deb \\ indigo@mindspring.com \\ http://www.mindspring.com/~indigo ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Dec 2000 13:31:30 EST From: CampGrrl63@aol.com Subject: Re: [dads-yard] ?CD for starting collection In a message dated Wed, 20 Dec 2000 12:16:20 PM Eastern Standard Time, Deb writes: << At 03:58 PM 12/19/00, BTFenton@aol.com wrote: >I'm new so I'll start with 'Hi everyone!' I love the rawer, folky sounds myself (talk about raw & folky - how about Dandelion!:) and have really enjoyed watching and listening to her music grow and evolve over the years. Running a very close second to TFL for me is the self-titled "Catie Curtis" CD. Please don't take all that to assume I don't like the new stuff too...LOVE it...but it's definitely got a little differently flavor. It all depends on what toots your whistle...wets your whistle?...toots your horn?...whatEVER! : ) To the whole list... Here's greetings for a safe and happy holiday season ...whatever holiday is yours... Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Kwanzaa, New Year...and whatever else I'm missing! peace, Heather ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Dec 2000 13:45:28 EST From: PopRckGrrl@aol.com Subject: Re: [dads-yard] ?CD for starting collection I'd just get them all, but if you really want to start with just one, I'd probably go with "Catie Curtis" though it's hard to narrow it down to just one... While you're checking out new music, check out Melissa Ferrick, you won't be disappointed with what youhear at all. :) ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V2 #120 *******************************
