The song is about a church burning down. It's a great song with ironic humor mixed with existentialism. I can't find it on any of her albums. Of course, I don't know what the name of it is, so that could be the problem. I really loved it and I'd like to find it. Any help is appreciated. - -marie -----Original Message----- From: owner-dads-yard@smoe.org [mailto:owner-dads-yard@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Jo Norvelle Walker Sent: Wednesday, November 15, 2000 2:01 AM To: dads-yard@smoe.org Subject: Re: [dads-yard] OT: Dar interview in Sojourners I found the URL: http://www.sojo.net/home/magazine/index.cfm/action/sojourners/issue/soj0011/ article/001131.html Sojourners also had another article that mentioned Dar: http://www.sojo.net/home/magazine/index.cfm/action/sojourners/issue/soj9605/ article/960533.html But alas, nothing about Catie! The only other song with even a mention of any kind of religion in it (loosely said) would be Larry on her self titled album. That song is about her neighbor who she thought looked like Jesus. But I think that song is more about acceptance and isolationism than any religion or any one person. You might try the Dar List to see if someone has bootlegged any of the shows. Bet you can find it if you try. The name is Kasey Chambers and her cd is The Captain. Julie and Buddy Miller play on the record as well. Relocation is not cheap, but I felt a little splurgy last week and since I love Catie and Catie loves Lucinda and Lucinda loves Kasey, I bought the cd and have carried it around with me like a blankey for the past week. In the car, at work, at home. Maybe I should just burn a few copies. Thanks for the heads-up, Tawni! I always respect your recommendations, so I should stop wavering on Kasey and just get it. I thought she kind of sounded like Garrison Starr when I first heard her. I heard OF her before hearing her, and, knowing she is from Australia, I figured I couldn't go wrong. Thanks for confirming that, my friend. Take care, all. Deb ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V2 #101 *******************************
