Just like Becky, I was surprised not to hear anything from Crash Course in Roses. I would have loved to hear Magnolia Street or What's the Matter. I cannot complain, though, because we got to hear some old favorites and some really cool new stuff. The highlight of the show for me was the song that Catie had just written that day. I felt tears coming to my eyes as I experienced this moment. Here is this incredibly talented artist performing a song that she was inspired to write just today while sitting in her hotel room, watching a train cross the Ohio River, thinking about and missing her partner. The moment captured everything that I love about Catie. She wasn't sure if she would remember the song and said that she had better perform it now because she might forget it and never get to perform it again. We can't let that happen....this song is too wonderful to be lost! So if any of you get to see Catie in the coming weeks, ask her to play the song about the train going over the Ohio River. You will be so glad that you did. Other really cool moments in the show include an extra line she added when performing Radical: "Though I mind what people say, not-really-anymore, love is stronger than any words anyway." And in closing, she encouraged everyone to get out and vote, and appropriately performed Hole in the Bucket. It was an incredible, if short, set. Dar was really great, too. She was very funny and told a lot of stories. I am pretty new to her music and seeing her live has only encouraged my interest. Well, that's it for now. Hope everyone gets the opportunity to see this show and please share with us when you do! Jeff ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V2 #91 ******************************
