I've been listening to her new CD and just wondered if anyone else had been doing the same. It took me a couple of listenings to really appreciate it. It's just been so long since she's put anything new out, I think it took a little while to get back into the Joan mood. Now, I'm finding myself rocking to her cd....I especially like the title track, Righteous Love, and Poison Apples. The cover of Bob Dylans' Make You Feel My Love is also pretty funky. I also picked up my first Dar cd finally (the green world). You were all right...she's amazing. The whoIe cd is great, but I guess my favorites are And A God Descended and Spring Street. And I can't listen to the Yoko Ono song without laughing when she sings the line about "selling your songs to Nike." I'm really looking forward to seeing her and Catie together next month! Thanks to everyone for the recommendations. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Oct 2000 10:20:48 EDT From: WoodellDC@aol.com Subject: [dads-yard] NCC: TV/fiction Kathy wrote, << But I'm STILL waiting to see that Radical video on MTV :) >> Me, too -- in fact I'm still waiting to see the Radical video -- but in the meantime, an FYI for anyone interested, VH1 is showing "Equality Rocks" on Oct. 27, I believe. Of course, all of you in the South Jersey area will be setting your VCRs, because (of course), you all will be rushing to the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill, 401 N. Kings Highway at 7:30 p.m., to see lesbian Philadelphia author Anndee Hochman reading from her new work of fiction, "Anatomies: A Novella and Stories," for free, followed by refreshments. Right? Don't know if anyone has mentioned but Boston has two stations that are the best for folk (old and new) WERS 88.9 (go Emerson college) has a morning coffee house every weekday morning and WUMB 91.9 is an all folk station (watch out for the Celtic hour though!) Also Michigan Live! has an accoustic cafe and posts a new interview every monday afternoon. They are at: http://www.mlive.com/cafe/index.ssf?/cafe/stories/20000424fruvous.frm Both I believe are on the web >From: Greenwomyn@aol.com >To: dads-yard@smoe.org >Subject: Re: [dads-yard] new member >Date: Fri, 6 Oct 2000 04:27:25 EDT > >See Sandra, you've unintentionally started a new thread with your very >first >post to the list - "Which of us have heard Catie on the radio"?
