I live in Holland and had the chance to see Catie play earlier this year. Since then it's been 'radiosilence', she didn't get a lot of attention which is a shame. I assume you americans had better luck. I assume you americans had better luck.>> Well, that depends on what you mean by better luck. Catie is, by no means, a huge radio star, but she does get played on certain stations that specialize in her kind of music, namely WXPN in Philadelphia (www.xpn.org), WUMB in Boston (www.wumb.org) and WFUV in New York (www.wfuv.org). I included all the web addresses because I know these stations broadcast over the Internet and, if you don't get to hear Catie, you hear lots of other great music (such as Dar Williams' new one, right, Tawni??). Catie is opening a lot of shows for Dar this fall, so people who are getting to those shows are seeing great music! (not me, I've had to work). By the way, Sandra, WELCOME TO THE LIST! It is fairly quiet right now, but perhaps, if you are not too shy -- and don't be around this group of people -- feel free to offer up your opinions on Catie's music and I'm sure they will spark people to reply personally or, hopefully, to the list. And I think you will find that this group of people is very friendly -- in fact, I've become friends with about six or seven people on the list, stayed in one couple's homes and had some people stay in mine. Take care, Deb ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2000 15:11:20 -0400 From: Deb Subject: [dads-yard] Administrative Note As most of you know, CatieList moved here a while ago. However, there was a bit of a problem which allowed people to continue to subscribe to the now-defunct list. So if you just received a welcome message from dads-yard today, it is only because you have been moved from the old list to the new one! Welcome! If, for any reason, you no longer wish to subscribe to the list, please follow the instructions in your welcome message to leave. - -- Deb \\ indigo@mindspring.com \\ http://www.mindspring.com/~indigo ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V2 #71 ******************************
