another great site to get independent cds by any of these people and get more 
money to the artists is www.folkweb.com.  its run by matt smith of club 
passim, a very sweet guy.

there is a great article about jess klein in this weeks boston phoenix, you 
should check it out at www.bostonphoenix.com or pick one up if youre in the 
area.

also, for whoever asked about the rocky mtn folks fest, it was quite amazing 
this year!!  it is one of the best festivals i think, better line-up and 
organization that falcon ridge even.  anyway, i just put up a page on my web 
site of pictures of the  fest last weekend in colorado.  it includes pictues 
of the nields, lucy k, ben demerath, catie, mary gauthier, kris delmhorst, 
stacey earle, willie porter, emmylou harris, guy clark, and others.  and then 
a few of me and my friends and family at the bottom.

I've just been catching up on the postings, so this is a little delayed.
thanks so much, Joan, for mentioning that catie's new tour dates were
posted.  I checked out pollstar.com just to see if catie might happen to be
playing anywhere within a several hour radius.    to my overwhelming
delight, i found that catie is playing with dar twice in november in
kentucky!  ever since i've been a catie fan, she's never toured anywhere
close to kentucky.  i've seen her live twice, once in cleveland and once in
d.c.  i was beginning to think i'd never get to see catie live unless i
made a road trip out of it.  imagine my excitement in knowing that she'll
be playing twice, both venues within an hour or so of my home!  any other
kentucky or cincinnati catie fans out there to share in my joy?
i haven't listened to dar in the past, but i will get to see her since
catie is opening for her.  i read through everyone's two cents, and it
sounds like hearing her is going to be a treat.  i want to buy some of her
stuff before the show to get caught up.  i was thinking i'd get the new one
and maybe some older stuff, too.  what does anyone recommend?

what I want to know is where are the California dates????

I picked up my guitar again tonight after 3 months of not playing... I sounded
terrible.. but for the first time in a long time, it felt really good to play.
I hope the feeling lasts.

I took a visit to Jess's site too.  Thanks for sharing that.  Not sure if you
remember, but you're still welcome to those dar tapes.
